Pros

Initially comp is competitive but raises and bonuses are dismal.

Cons

Toxic mean girls leading teams. A major "pay your dues" mentality. The power trip some of these people are on is absolutely insane. There is also a blatant disregard for the SME teams. They operate and truly believe the account teams are smarter. If you work in social, influencer, analytics or any specialty, go somewhere else. Your contributions will not be valued at Real Chemistry.

Thanks for sharing your feedback from your time working at Real Chemistry. Compensation should be fair and competitive throughout the employee lifecycle, which is why have a new leader of Total Rewards. We also believe we are best together. Your experience is not the Real Chemistry employee experience we strive to create. ALL our teams are necessary to innovate with clients to truly make an impact. Each team is a part of the strategy we’ve built out to provide integrated solutions, and has an equal importance to how we do business. --Wendy Carhart, Chief Communications, Culture, and Purpose officer

Pros

Competitive starting salary Opportunities to work with smart people Decent clients Net positive benefits

Cons

Warning to all potential applicants: Real Chemistry may appear to offer opportunities for learning, smart colleagues, and good benefits, but my personal experience at this company was nothing short of a nightmare. The toxic culture, focus on billability and utilization, and lack of transparency resulted in burnout, stress, and high turnover rates. Onboarding is almost non-existent, leaving new hires to sink or swim without support or guidance. Additionally, the company expects new employees to know everything immediately, resulting in public shaming and humiliation by more experienced colleagues. Middle managers are over-relied upon for too much, leading to a lack of consistency and unhelpful feedback. The lack of senior leadership presence and accountability only exacerbates the problem. If you are considering working at Real Chemistry, proceed with caution. While the company may offer competitive pay and benefits, the toxic culture and poor management practices are serious issues that should not be overlooked. The company needs to prioritize work-life balance, invest in appropriate people management training, and provide a more transparent process to ensure that employees are treated with respect and dignity. Real Chemistry also needs to take its DEI practices seriously and include diverse voices in the decision-making process. In short, be wary of Real Chemistry. The company has significant issues that may cause serious harm to your mental and emotional well-being. Take the time to carefully consider if this is the right fit for you before making a decision.

Pros

Annual wellness stipend that can be used for a variety of things (gym memberships, massagers, AirPods, Apple Watch)

Cons

Real Chemistry's operations are inefficient. And senior leadership is well aware. The new CEO was hired specifically to fix the inefficiencies at the company, but that will take some time. Onboarding is nonexistent. You are thrown onto accounts on day 2 of employment and expected to hit the ground running with no direction, no guidance, no process. Nothing. The work is not hard, but the lack of efficient and streamlined processes makes the work 500x harder than it needs to be. This place is all talk and no action. Senior leadership is aware that there is a revolving door of amazing talent and they chalk it up to "the company is at a stage of high growth" or "this work isn't for everyone". Well, there will be no one left if some actionable changes are implemented. People are BURNED OUT. If you manage to take time off, you will come back to an inbox of 600 emails and anxiety that comes with it. Many account teams do not manage client expectations out of fear of losing the business and throw on sooo much work on the teams. Work life balance? What is that?

Thank you for your feedback. We know that Real Chemistry has undergone a significant period of change, which can admittedly come with pain points on the journey to an improved way of working. While there is still great demand to continue hiring and ensure teams have the resources they need, we do believe we have listened to our employees’ desire for robust onboarding. We’ve built out additional support for new hires--including live trainings, business-specific welcomes and knowledge sessions, and a new internal platform with content for employees (a favorite resource is the glossary breaking down all acronyms and healthcare terminology we utilize – very practical). --Brian Gibbons, Chief People Officer
