Pros

- Very friendly/ helpful coworkers and managers. - Tasks are relatively easy to learn, especially with other coworkers at your side. - Hours have been pretty flexible so far. - Free movies for you and a guest! - Free movie posters if you love to collect. - 50% off concessions!

Cons

- Even for part-time, every shift is 8 hours long. - Redeeming customers’ rewards points is over-complicated at times and is the source of most customer-service problems. - The free movie tickets can only be redeemed one hour before showtime. No pre-reserving (but hey, free is free)

Utter shame

Pros

Understanding and recognizing nonsense by Cineworld takeover.

Cons

I’ve read thru 18 pages of reviews and I’m amazed how arrogant the replies are from HR. We’d like to see someone who can actually make a change reply, not someone who wants an email to further go nowhere. There is an employment law known by very few as “Constructive Dismissal” look that up after you are done with this review. Which is EXACTLY what this company is practicing. There is also NO diversity above the GM level. My colleagues speak about this often, for 4 decades we have never seen any diversity in promoting to the DM level. It’s always the same thing when a spot is open. History will be made when diversity is recognized by this company. The changes that Cineworld has put in place at the theatre level are unrealistic, drastic, unnecessary, stressful, careless, reckless and it destroyed the morale that the former CEO/COO had in place. When I read thru the other 200 or so negative reviews it states how we all feel. We gave you all so much of our lives. Missed birthdays for kids, holidays with family, etc while we get a card in the mail to enjoy our holidays, how?! We are now stuck in a dead end job. No raises while your profit margin soars. Do you realize how demoralizing and damaging to our health it would be at this point to be fired from a job, that will replace you for something as simple as a stapler not being where Cineworld has dictated it HAS to be? The focus you have now on operations is often laughable when we ask staff to clean the dust from 100% of our theatre 100% of the time. Like many reviews have said before, at 10am you dust it, by 3pm it’s back. Doing this brings no focus on customer service and our customers notice this. Previous reviewer also brought up the cursing by a corporate visitor. When someone that high of rank curses at you, you all can’t do anything as they are YOUR boss. So no need to report that to HR. There was a time when we were often encouraged to leave a review on this site. Now that is gone, along with the good score that used to be here. The downward trend is no coincidence....for the best place to watch a movie? How many managers will have on their action plan to dust off the game station in the breakroom? I actually pay to go to a rival theatre because I just can’t reward a company that treats its employees so rotten. The new pay scale is another tool used to boost your profit. To know that you are proud to “save money” this way is sickening and has made being a GM unbearable. The constructive dismissal program was well thought out, you removed a ton of higher earning employees ; replaced with someone making a fraction of what we make and even less of a fraction of experience. If you don’t need GM’s don’t use them. Just have managers and leads run the ship. The stress of daily and weekly changes is never ending. Let us watch Corp run a building for a week with these expectations and tell us how you feel after we come in and inspect you, and destroy any positivity you may have thought you had. It’s a cruel practice that has made it clear that it’s hunting season for all managers.

To say thank you to a review such as this is hard. Who knows if you will come back and read it. I do say this as I type and contemplate all the items you have listed. I'm truly sorry you feel this way. It's never good to hear someone express the thoughts and feelings you have shared. I know that is hard to do and thank you for being candid. To say that our replies are arrogant is a little presumptive. We have goals in these reviews. For example, we try to maintain a positive position because we do want to be better in all areas. Another thing, is that other companies like ours, don't even reply to their reviews. We take time to look at these reviews, forward them to respective departments and see what changes can be made. The acquisition by Cineworld and the procedure changes brought about by it have proven to be stressful for some employees, and we are trying to make the transition as smooth as possible. We are taking your concerns into consideration, and we would like to hear more from you about the events taking place at your former theatre and others like it. Please reach out to us at employeecomments@regalcinemas.com. It is hard to address all of your specific cons in one Glassdoor response, but we would like to discuss this with you further.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We would like to start by saying "thank you" for your dedication to Regal. We are happy to see you have built lasting relationships with the people on your team. However, we are disappointed to learn that there has been a lack of resources given to reach new expectations. As a General Manager we feel you would be able to give us honest insight into ways we can improve the materials given, as well as give further insight into the ways we can provide more support to our teams. We are very interested in getting more feedback from you, and interested in talking about your concerns further. If you would please reach out to morgan.grimes@regalcinemas.com we would appreciate it.
