Pros

The pay was good at one point, After inflation they became lower rung. They do not provide cost of living adjustments.

Cons

The pulse check that HR tells people to use is meaningless. Over 40% of the company suggests not working here. The environment is toxic from the top down. Upper management will admonish individuals utilizing mass email tags, thousands of people see it. They even attempt to implement HR guidelines that focus on individual appearance. There is a complete disconnect from the customer. Upper management never listens to direct contact. If an attempt to correct an obvious issue is made, it will come to a stop due to people lacking initiative and flexibility. A very common sentiment is, “that is not my responsibility”. HR is useless, complain and they will find a way to fire you. Document every toxic interaction and prepare to share it with a lawyer. Do not make friends here, the ones that like this place are the toxic ones. They will forget to pay you, and then tell you that you must wait until the end of the month. They will tell you that you will get a bonus, and then say no when they are to pay it out. They even do this when it is in writing.

Pros

The best reason to work at Sartorius is to learn their products and meet a lot of qualified professionals. This will help you continue growing your knowledge in whatever field you decide to work in.

Cons

The company is currently (as of May 2023) going through a large shake-up. This is occurring at a corporate level but it's much more apparent at the local one (Yauco). Senior management changed recently and is causing a lot of instability within the site. A lot of changes are currently ongoing, including large layoffs and re-structuring. This new Senior Management, knowingly or unknowingly, seem to be creating a work culture of "Us vs Them". The site is being divided into the newly installed Management vs the already established employees.

Dear former colleague, thank you for taking the time to share your impression of the current working atmosphere in Yauco here. We forwarded your feedback internally and hope that you had the opportunity talk about your observations with your manager and the HR team before you moved on. In addition, we trust that you shared your feedback in the last employee survey. As you will know, the results help us as company to identify internal needs for action and to initiate change. Thanks again for your open words and much success for your future. Best Regards Corporate Communications

Pros

They have a benefit package

Cons

In my experience with Sartorius, I must warn potential employees about the detrimental company culture and moral deficiencies within the organization. The lack of work-life balance is glaring, with micro-management reaching extreme levels. Employees endure harassment over expense reports and have no control over scheduling, being dispatched whenever and wherever management sees fit, without regard for personal well-being. One's utilization rate becomes a constant source of stress, as working too fast or too slow both lead to negative consequences. The company prioritizes shareholder profits over employee satisfaction, evident in the relentless pressure placed on field service engineers. There is no support from management, only a relentless pursuit of productivity at the expense of employee well-being. In surveys and feedback, it's abundantly clear that hardly anyone would recommend Sartorius as a place to work. To prospective field service engineers, I strongly advise investing your time and energy in a company that values its employees and has their best interests at heart. Sartorius is not that company. Beware of the toxic culture and prioritize your own well-being over a paycheck.
