Too many Yes men

Pros

Flexible to work from home.

Cons

The company talks about Diversity and Inclusion but the Org chart say otherwise. Like most companies fortune 100, 500 companies the CEO’s, Department Heads, and a majority of upper management all look the same. They just can’t see it because it’s a norm to them. We can’t make change if we are stuck in our ways. Sedgwick you have to do better. We are not going to see change if you don’t recognize that upper management looks the same. At the next board meeting look around the table and let us know who are you seeing. I could tell you what I’m seeing in my meetings in our meetings, no person of color. I have been at this company for a very long time and it has never a person of color in this department. The only people that are put into a position of Leadership are the “YES” men. Majority of those YES men doesn’t understand how to lead, aren’t a people person, and or have a bad personalities. It’s 2023 and people of color are just as smart, you just have to attempt to see it and be true to your company’s slogan. Diversity and Inclusion isn’t just for hiring practices, it’s also for placing minorities in leadership roles as well. We aren’t talking about being a TL, we are talking about at the head of the table in Memphis.

Pros

Remote, got the choice of a schedule

Cons

As a new hire, I’ve experienced significant discrepancies in the onboarding process. The promised two-week training session provided insufficient hands-on preparation for phone duties, leaving me and my colleagues unprepared. Moreover, there’s a concerning misalignment between the initially communicated role and the actual responsibilities assigned. The lack of transparency from higher-ups regarding role expectations is disheartening. If you value your self-respect and seek a transparent work environment, I recommend exploring other opportunities. The disregard for employee concerns and the misleading information provided create an unfavorable work atmosphere. Consider this review as a cautionary note for prospective employees. It’s disheartening to experience a lack of genuine care from team leaders who prioritize their interests. The promise of growth opportunities feels hollow when the reality is different. Reflecting on my decision to join this company, I regret not exploring other options where the commitment to employee well-being might be more sincere. The idea of spending a significant portion of one’s life here only to attain a team leader position feels like a misplaced investment in personal and professional development.

Pros

good work-life balance, great pay and benefits

Cons

management don't know the job themselves so how are you able to manage a team and not have any idea of how work is done. Heavy microaggression, no open door policy. If you are a person of color you can expect to have you education and experience questioned and belittled. Expect for team members to lie to you and about you. Expect for leadership to have no confidence in you, although you are producing quality work. Expect to be fed excuses of why you don't have access to things you should have access to do you daily task. Expect for your completed work to be tampered with. Expected to be called a liar. Expect to be discriminated against in every way. Expect for meetings to be held about you without you. Expect your leadership to not give no attention to your grievance. Expect to be released from you work duties because you ask questions and advocate for yourself. Expect for no one to believe this part of the review. Because we dare not speak of issues that can easily be swept under a rug.
