Pros

I worked with wonderful people at Select, the therapists are top-notch, our patients were people (for the most part) you really got to know and our office was really a feel good place to work. I wish I could have stayed, but no one should have to work two jobs to make ends meet.

Cons

The PSS position is important and there are many responsibilities that come with the position. It is the first introduction to your patients, appointment setting, and benefit verification are all included. You support everyone in the office, from therapists to students to aides. You are responsible for billing issues, daily reports to the regional office, calls from worker's comp and so much more. There's never a dull moment which is great, but doing all that for $18/hour is insane, especially when other PT offices pay much more. Select does not value the contributions of it's PSSs if you look at what they pay and what the annual raise is (mine was a whopping .42). In a major city, it's not a living wage which is unfortunate, because aside from the money it's a wonderful place to work (at least my office was). There also aren't opportunities to advance upward.

Pros

The staff team was small but I enjoyed the team members I worked with. I was able to work at my own pace and report to my boss stationed in OK via email/telecommunications. Loved the atmosphere in this place

Cons

The pay was the only issue I felt needed improvement
