Worst place to work

Pros

Pay is okay for the area.

Cons

Where to start? Management is horrible from the CEO down. Europeans treat the americans like they are stupid. The plants run on christmas. Morale in the worst its ever been. Outside consulting firms have lead to gutting the company. Its clear by the way sibelco treats the US employees that if we were in a third world country, we would be literal slaves.

Cluster

Pros

Operate using a “cluster” model. Apt description.

Cons

Recently acquired and can confirm this is a terrible place to work. Do not care about their employees. Morale is lowest it’s ever been. Incentive plan unattainable. Don’t consider right people for the job. No say over your role or its level. Now have directors that should be managers, managers that should be directors and both that should be neither. HR too lazy to do real org design. Just put people in boxes and force fit. Use never heard of difficult to implement cluster model. No normal company would ever mix finance and hr in this way and think it’s a good idea. People are last. No communication in months. Most are getting out leaving for other jobs or looking. Terrible culture. People are last.

Pros

Good coworkers, mostly locals who you can trust

Cons

Upper management culture appears insecure on their position resulting excessive office politics. Inexperienced leadership micromanages from europe continuously putting pressure to staff on the ground and acting as if they are gods. Letting production to continue during ICAM
