Leadership is destroying the company

Pros

No pros come to mind.

Cons

The EVP leading North America has taken something that could practically run itself with minimal oversight, and destroyed it in just over a year. The leadership manages by bullying and intimidation. Many people in leadership/managerial roles behave unethically. There's a gross lack of accountability from the decision makers. They foster a culture of blame rather than ownership. The company began a diversity initiative. However, that "diversity" was only to hire more women. The hiring for diversity guidelines we're asked to follow are questionable at best. After hiring women, the company doesn't do anything to protect it's female employees from predatory or harassing managers. Due to bad managers and poor staffing decisions the company can only operate reactively. There's zero training or development initiatives and the communication from leadership is abysmal. Work/Life balance is nonexistent. The company boasts record profits but as mentioned in other reviews, the annual raise was appalling.

Pros

Coworkers are great and overall a lot of really good people work in the Spruce Pine area.

Cons

Upper management micromanages everything, won't listen to any recommendations from tenured staff, and subsequently makes bad decisions. This has been on a repeat since current CEO came in board. Decisions aren't made for longevity of the company, but instead pushing short term KPIs and help the upper management get their bonuses. To make matters worse, the short term goals constantly change based on whatever new, ill-advised edict has been decreed. This leaves everyone running around trying to put out whatever new fire management has created for themselves. People with expertise are leaving because they're fed up with working in chaos all the time and their knowledge isn't valued by those with decision making power.

Pros

There are no pros, work somewhere else

Cons

No communication about future. HR doesn't care about the employees. Over promise, under deliver on everything.
