Epic Leadership Fail

Pros

Excellent income, many intelligent hires, was one of the best companies I worked for initially. Started with a great vision that rapidly went downhill in the past two years with poor leadership in the Episodes of Care division.

Cons

Siloed communication. Even though our primary goal was to break down siloed communication in healthcare. Leadership at the top instituted extreme micromanaged box checking exercises to skilled professionals then assigned glowing data metrics to the outcomes with no discernible way to measure. Refused to share how they arrived at such successful data metrics. Then strong-armed compliance with said box checking exercises despite continued input from 'boots on the ground' that no amount of box checking could move KPIs. When KPIs did not move, fault was assigned to the 'boots on the ground' and employees were bullied into harder and faster box checking. THICK upper layer of management bereft with Vice Presidents. Extreme lack of transparency around promotional opportunities specifically designed to avoid advancing anyone who hasn't been 'tapped' by the clique at the top. The wind down of this program is relieving to say the least as we were circling the drain anyway. The joy of this job was literally killed by poor leadership.

Pros

- Flexibility in where we work was the greatest perk, but now being taken away - Good work life balance depending on the team - Many colleagues passionate about the stated mission of the org - Options in health care plan

Cons

- Company is implementing required RTO - Company exit from BPCI-A program - Loss of knowledge and inadequate staffing from layoffs, extending beyond those a part of the discontinued line of business, and resulting turnover

Pros

The ability to work from home was great, especially during the pandemic. They provided equipment for you to use at home.

Cons

it was like working for a cult with all of their rah rah grandiose grandstanding by management. It felt like a Trump rally with their virtual "Town Hall" meeting. It was off putting and felt staged by employees who were oooohing and ahhhing. Make outbound calls to the elderly during a pandemic to have them schedule useless "wellness" check ups. Many of these people did not want to do them and have a stranger (RN/DR/PhA) in their homes when they had not seen their own families for months due to the pandemic. You had to push and push to schedule the wellness check. Many were scared if they did not do it they would lose their health care coverage. I felt like a dirtbag daily.
