This unicorn is a donkey!

Pros

Once a year trip to Geneva. However, this is a requirement and regardless if you have previous commitments or children, you'll be required to travel for 2 weeks out of the year. Nice office downtown for your inside sales job to distract you from how little they pay vs the market. I believe there's some genuinely nice people at Sonar, but senior management is taking advantage of them.

Cons

For a company that preaches integrity, transparency, ethics, and "collective intelligence", absolutely shocked at how leadership did not reciprocate this down the ladder. Completely mislead about the job role, territory, account base, what I was truly compensated on vs that of my quota, from the beginning, even during the interview process. Of course, you can't find out certain specifics and how much they "spin it" until you're on the inside. However, by week 4, it was time to start looking for another job, as there was no way to reach OTE commissions and a number of issues were brought to light by then. Sales leadership is constantly changing your account set throughout the year, almost thrashing and pulling any lever to make some kind of positive impact. Make no mistake about it, this is an INSIDE sales or glorified BDR role. If you have minimal experience and come from Solarwinds, I'm sure you'll fit right in.......absolute donkey.

Pros

- There is a trip to Geneva once a year, but you'll be expected to be with your colleagues 24/7 for 2 weeks. Is that really a pro? - 24 days PTO but if a holiday lands on the weekend, you won't get a make-up day like every other company everywhere.

Cons

- Michael Scott style sales management without any of the charm of Michael Scott. They who have no idea what they're doing and blame everyone but themselves for the problems they cause. -A CEO who has no business being in that position - doesn't know how to run a business. Refuses to acknowledge the growing competition and constantly clips marketing wings because he believes the product sells itself. -They also lie to about selling into enterprise accounts. You'll be lucky if you get more than 10 in your account set and then will be yelled at incessantly by management because it is impossible to hit a €1m+ quota chasing $150 deals. -You will be micromanaged and management has a habit of changing in-office rules with no notice. Enjoy the attitude from them when you can't change your schedule at the last minute. - No promotions. - Constantly rotating accounts so it's impossible to build rapport. -Use extreme caution joining the sales org unless you enjoy feeling like Sisyphus

Pros

Enriching, nurturing, professional and HUMAN culture. Excellent candidate experience, as well as a comprehensive and patient onboarding experience. Higher than industry standard benefits, PTO, and flexible working hours. Local, and international company-wide events. Multi-national.

Cons

Flat organization - if titles are important to you, you won't be too happy with the flat hierarchy of Sonar's organization
