Pros

The trauma bonding within my team, we're friends for life now.

Cons

I won't repeat what the other low rated reviews say (but I do agree) I will say, day to day life was top-tier stressful. The instilled paranoia of not being perceived as productive is something I still have in my new role. Every monitoring feature is embedded in your laptop and HR quite literally walks around the office and counts desks. Twice a day. You will be expected to work off hours to accommodate for other time zones AND for the love of god, you better be in your seat from 8-6. My days were VERY frequently 6am- 7pm.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are concerned to hear about the stress and perceived monitoring culture you've described, as this does not reflect the environment we aim to build at Sonar. We are in the process of refining our workplace policies to focus on results and impact rather than physical presence, and we are working closely with our global management teams to better support work-life balance across multiple time zones. Your feedback regarding psychological safety and the employee experience is invaluable as we evolve our leadership standards and prioritize a healthier, more sustainable culture for our teams. We appreciate the dedication you showed during your time here and wish you the best in your current role.

Pros

they finally started bringing in some people that our doing everything they can to change things but they get squished like a bug at every level from the CEO a narcissist that only hires his friends from previous companies blaming people is his leadership style unless you consider changing decisions a priority he sits in a glass house right by the front door and watches people come and go and is to busy to acknowledge all of us that our bending over backwards to help sonar source grow he is so disconnected that when we have office lunches he jumps to the front of the line bypassing us that our waiting patiently to get food he loves to hear himself talk to and at the xmas party stopped everybody from having fun to ramble on about how important he was

Cons

if you’re going to send out a program rewarding work why make it seem like to get the bonus if you don’t support him their will be consequences whyyyyy cant you appreciate everyone and say thank you and have a good holiday their is definitely a disconnect between the CEO and his minions i am in sales and i’m embarrassed even though the wages our high, and the commissions our really solid if i am being honest, it’s just not worth it

Thank you for your candid feedback. We acknowledge your concerns regarding our leadership culture and the communication of our internal initiatives. We are currently working to bridge the gap between our rapid organizational growth and our leadership accessibility to ensure every team member feels seen and valued. Furthermore, we want to clarify that our reward and wellness programs are intended solely as a gesture of appreciation for our team's hard work; we are committed to ensuring that future program rollouts are framed with the clarity and gratitude our employees deserve. Your feedback is a vital part of our effort to build a more inclusive and professional environment at Sonar.

Eroding culture amid shifting priorities and biases

Pros

The long-tenured employees helped preserve a sense of hope, but that began to fade as the culture became more “Americanized.” Unfortunately, Sonar no longer feels like what it once was, though I still wish the company the best.

Cons

Frequent shifts in priorities, limited diversity, and a bias toward employees without family obligations who are expected to be available around the clock.
