Pros
None, really. The culture is bad, the benefits are awful, and pay is terrible. Really no redeeming qualities about this place.
Cons
Upper IT management is dishonest, starting with the CIO. Decisions are mad entirely based on emotion, so being disliked is a death sentence here. Especially if you're disliked for being ethical. If you work for sonic, DO NOT alert ANYONE to patient safety or legal issues - you will be drummed out by any means possible to keep the word from getting back to Australia. Corporate IT is populate by sycophants and led by a sociopath whose ability to lie is matched only by his ability to feign competence. Wow. I've never seen someone so savvy at being all talk. WHOLE LOT of empty suits at Sonic. Corporate HR is completely out of touch with the company, lazy, and cares little about its labs or the people who work for them. Patient safety issues are ignored on the local level. The emphasis is on avoiding CAP reportables above all else. Problems with instruments causing faulty results? Don't correct those reports, re-draw! The list goes on, but suffice to say Sonic is not a compatible workplace for people with ethics or integrity. Patients are not safe sending their work to a Sonic laboratory.
