Pros

Expense reimbursements are made in a timely fashion

Cons

Management from the top down is very opaque about issues within the company and within the region. Management often tries to micromanage their employees and there is a high rate of turnover. There are no holiday parties or end of year bonuses or gestures for SNP’s however they throw lavish parties at their headquarters for upper management in Brentwood, TN. On call response time expectations by management are unreasonable. SNP’s are often expected to work long days and then take on call cases that may add after 5 pm. Work/life balance suffers.

Pros

...they always have a job opening

Cons

Where do I begin...management...most of the managers are only in their position because they have been there for years. Not because they are actually good at their job. Their turnover rate is insanely high. No one wants to work here bc of specific managers that are known throughout the region, bc Pay is terrible, compensation-good luck, health bennifits are a joke. When complaints are made to management, HR, DO’s they get pushed under the rug. Especially if a surgeon backs the manager. If you do complain, they transfer you rather than taking care of the problem. So most people don’t want to speak up for fear of either being ignored, labeled a trouble maker or being transfered for being a whistle blower and reporting safety issues, harassment or any of the such. They run shirt staffed at almost all of their hospitals and bank on people giving back their PTO when they get in a jam. And the thanks you get...a text from your manager if that. How about if you’re going to make someone give back approved PTO, in addition to giving them back their hours you pay them for a full days shift! You would have had to pay someone else to fill in for them so why not at least make your employees feel appreciated.

Pros

I have absolutely nothing positive to say about this company. The 5 star ratings on here are from individuals that work for the human resources department attempting to balance the negative feedback, and that's where the actual people that did the work come in to let you all know, don't waste five minutes of your time considering this as an actual employer.

Cons

On call - You work when called to do so, you won't know if you'll be working for 8 hours or 5 minutes. Travel will rack up those miles on your vehicle. Company lies about salary, you will not make as advertised. Provision payments agreement is sheer con-artistry. If you are to be terminated without being laid off, you must owe costs that total AT LEAST $15,000.00. I don't know what year Specialty Care thinks were living in, but the average American doesn't have that kind of money lying around. This agreement is a slap to the face to any hard-working individuals and once the 3 years this contract is good for are up, you can be sure the smart employees will escape this toxic environment. People go to work to make money, not put their funds at risk. This is an at-will employer so your supervisor could fire you just because he doesn't like the way you look, and guess what that mean? Pay up. Even though the contract doesn't specify whether you need to sign it or not to be eligible for hire, the recruiters will be happy to let you know that you must sign it to be employed and that the contract is non-negotiable. There's nothing saving you from being hired one day, fired the next, and then paying anywhere between $15,000 to $30,000.
