Concierge at the front desk

Pros

I love sharing my days with the residents. We share our ups and downs and it truly feels like a family.

Cons

Unfortunately, I feel the position is underpaid. I've been there for almost 3 years and I am paid just a little above minimum wage. The concierge position carries a huge responsibility of making sure everyone is safe and that the building is safe.

Brand new communities that are consistently kept up.

Cons

Low on the pay scale Poor upper management organization Poor recruiting and employee retention plan Lack of staff accountability Low quality support staff with minimal work ethics Noticeable differentiation in treatment of hourly employees to sales staff In-house management lacks interpersonal skills needed to effectively manage employees with kindness and respect Lack of support from corporate HR Completely unaffordable health insurance for hourly employees, over $250 per pay while salary employees get a stipend to cover
