Pros

If you're unemployed it's a job. If you're lazy there's a golf cart to drive you to your car in the back of the parking lot. There are some really nice people who work there. They can help you make it through the day.

Cons

Management and supervisors can barely help you because the are so many frequent changes nobody ever seems to know if they're coming or going. Beginning of shift meetings are a joke. They could actually be helpful and motivational if the managers and supervisors giving the meeting weren't also complaining about the job all the time. Also, you don't want to work here simply because it's DIRTY! The air quality is very poor. I know people who haven't had breathing problems before but are now using an inhaler. People are always coming to work sick because if you take time off there's no way you're going to make enough sales to make bonus (not commission). There is no commission. The insurance industry is booming but it's a struggle for most of the agents here. Lack of proper training is rampant. High pressure is expected. Educating the customer and making sure they fully understand their decision is not necessary. As long as you get the application done you're good.

Pros

The pay is fairly decent

Cons

TZ Insurance claims that its principles of operation include accountability, excellence, integrity, passion, respect, and teamwork. However, integrity, respect, and also honesty are greatly lacking. I have seen firsthand supervisors and the executive team in Fort Lee, New Jersey make nonsensical business decisions that affect employees lives in a negative way for no other reason than a whim, providing no logical explanation whatsoever. Furthermore, depending on who you are, certain privileges are extended to some but not to others regardless of the original terms of employment.

Pros

As a sales position it was nice to be able to count on at least some money coming in while you learned to sell insurance products over the phone. Sales management team did try to help you work through rough spots tso you could close more business. Depending on what team you worked on, it was a Monday-Friday job, but some of the other teams worked Saturday and/or Sunday's. Newbies did not work the day shift. They were somewhat flexible with your schedule. Threw a nice Christmas party and gave us a Pumpkin Pie at Thanksgiving.

Cons

This is a call center environment. Non stop phone calls. You had to watch the clock on your breaks as if you were two minutes late you would not get paid for that break. As a new recruit you worked into the evening as they did business with customers on the west coast. This could mean getting out as late as 11:00pm. It is a 40 hour work week, which did not allow you do more sales if that was your goal. You could not get any overtime. Told you could make close to 100k per year, but in the 6 months I was there, I did meet anyone that came close to that . I personally did not like being confined to a desk for 8 hours a day. No opportunity to get to know the others you worked with unless you can talk and eat your lunch at the same time.
