Pros

-Incredible co-workers and work environment, everyone is humble, smart, inclusive, and motivated. I haven't worked anywhere with this strong of a cross-functional team of people that I respect. -great mission: coming in I realized how TR could help clients (especially as someone who cannot do most handyman tasks on her own), but TaskRabbit gives Taskers an alternative way to earn income and the stories are really inspirational (using the money they earn to send their family to college, pursue passions, etc.) -Interesting Product work - tons of opportunities and an emphasis on research and development, went from a very operational company to a product mentality -Leadership team - approachable, smart. Stacy, the CEO, knows all employees by name (despite the size and geographical location - she just cares). Sarah, the President/ Chief Product Officer is amazing and super experienced and has provided great direction to the team. In addition, other great leaders in Marketing, Legal, Engineering, Product, and Partner Management including a recent hire from our parent company at IKEA. Also, many of the exec team are women. - People Ops team that truly cares. There was a period that was a bit bumpier (may notice past reviews). Since then there have been some changes in leadership that have helped but also people took the employee engagement survey very seriously to introduce major changes. I've been at companies that do these as a formality but this is the first company that has really walked the walk to make some serious changes -Improved work/life balance with a once a week WFH policy

Cons

-Sometimes can be a lot of meetings, which are good for cross-collaboration but sometimes hard to get work done (actively trying to reduce this though and have no meeting wed afternoon) -Time Zones can be challenging with the different offices especially in London (but also a pro with international expansion ) but just sometimes calls for earlier meetings

Pros

When I was interviewing for my role at TaskRabbit, I kept wondering if all the down to earth, happy people were for real. Seriously, I kept looking for the cracks in the culture, the in-fighting or politics. But I didn't see it. And I still don't. I am so glad that I chose to join this company because of the focus on teamwork here. For instance, the engineering and product team actually cares what kinds of feedback customer service is hearing from clients and Taskers, and they actively work on features to fix it. I've seen engineers sit down and shadow a CS person, and then come up with really elegant solutions. Likewise, the Growth team pitches in to help the Tasker Operations team, and so on and so forth. And Finance, Legal and HR are there supporting it all. I'm also proud of the work we are doing. I see and hear stories of Taskers whose lives are improved because they can work when they want, set their own rates based on their own skills, and succeed. It feels good to know that we are helping shape the gig economy in a way that is good for the Tasker, and the client. And then there are the amazing events put on by our culture committee and speakers brought in by our leadership team. In the past month, we had Brad Smith the CEO of Intuit and Angela Duckworth the author of Grit to speak to us, AND all employees in the SF office got free tickets to see Michelle Obama speak at Oracle Arena, because our own CEO Stacy was the one moderating. Pretty cool.

Cons

We are growing and moving really fast. With that comes some disorganization, and pain. And to some, changes that are hard.

Pros

- For the newbies out there, depending on which team you are hired on (Operations. CX, legal, finance - are great. Low turnover) - Depending on the team, some managers are down to earth, gets work done, and really know what they are doing.

Cons

- For the newbies out there, depending on which team you are hired on (Marketing and EDDP - high turnover). - Seems like the company doesn't care about retention. They hire left and right and doesn't even try to convince people to stay. The new CEO, Ania, is really trying to clean house. - The culture has changed 100%. No longer a diverse company that it used to be. No longer a place that you would consider "neighborly". All the core values and what Leah and Stacy have built - down the drain.

Pros

- A genuinely caring culture. Tons of support for individual development. Lots of space, opportunity, and encouragement to make a huge impact for the whole company. Encouragement to work as a team. - Remote-first culture!!! Even execs are spread across all US timezones. - New leadership focused on operational excellence and building things right. - Diverse leadership team. - CEO and execs will make time to meet with anyone in the company.

Cons

Comp nowhere near FAANG, but decent for much smaller company. Pros above can make up for the difference, just depends on what is important to you.

Pros

Great office space with lots of perks. Office / culture events are top notch. Great CEO with an inspirational story to tell. Bright engineering and data teams. Diverse team. Some good recent exec hires, including VP Ops, are promising for real change.

Cons

Middle management is highly inept. Lots of false starts, bureaucracy and politics for such a small size company. No direction. IKEA acquisition is still being figured out in terms of fit into strategy so causing a lot of spinning wheels to show movement. Too many tentative hires without a clear team charter. Lots of juvenile behavior on the part of middle management, little management training, lots of middle school level bickering to get work done instead of being data driven, silos already apparent within teams where "XYZ is not my problem unless it's in my OKRs". No real HR or support, C level execs are mostly encouraging and inspiring leaders but are spread far too thin to help run the business operationally; although rapid hiring is meant to improve the situation. Company struggling to adjust to its new pace, not enough muscle to understand high-growth mode whatsoever due to lots of both junior level hires w/ no real world experience AND a long standing exec team that has not experienced navigating growth for sometime. On the floor, it is a punitive environment with no room for error or disagreement on some teams. Disagreement w/ exec will get you in hot water with management, so go with the flow and do as you are told, or else. Lots of hypocrisy and not practicing what middle management preaches, phony baloney proclamations around "Middle Path listening to understand" that in practice are completely misused, management not following through and 1-way communication.

Pros

Nothing, really. Low pay. I guess, dog friendly before covid? It was diverse when Stacy was CEO but now it's just another sad company trying to keep afloat.

Cons

Everything. THE ENTIRE C-SUITE QUIT! That's how you know it's toxic. When the leadership team leaves lol.
