Pros

The best reason is to provide great members experience.

Cons

All other studio locations have great managers. If someone gets hired, please never go to Williamsburg locations and UWS, they have got the worst failed managers who are extremely unprofessional and psychopaths. They need to know if the employees say something in their benefit, that doesn’t mean they should take it personal attacks. Extremely failure at organizing anything.

Thank you for sharing your feedback on your experience with Tend. We are thankful for your perspective and are happy to hear that you enjoyed our commitment to a great member experience and that we primarily have high quality managers. We do focus on hiring the right person for the right roles, and highly value a strong, empathetic leader. The HR team is very receptive to feedback, and we have several avenues for providing feedback from reaching out directly to HR, filling out anonymous surveys throughout the year, or filling out an anonymous claim. We review, listen, and respond to all team member feedback. We all have development and learning opportunities, and we do focus on leadership development for HR and our studio managers. We continue to strive for a safe, positive, and respectful workplace for all team members. If you would like to continue a dialogue, please reach out to us at people@hellotend.com.

Very Weird Place

Pros

Free coffee in breakroom. Pay was decent.

Cons

Not sure where to begin. Pretty much a toxic team to work with, mostly from the top down. They knew my background when they hired me then seemed to become angry when I did what I was best at. I say "seemed" because it was really hard to understand the standing of anything since no clear direction was given and the managers were both very passive aggressive. We were required to give weekly updates on what was being done but would then be attacked in the meeting from left field for not meeting some mysterious goals that were never established in the first place. Also, the upper management constantly talked about how great it was going to be to take this company public, but there was absolutely no incentive for any other employees to care. We had zero equity in helping the company go public but it was constantly mentioned to us in company meetings. I was literally told "they don't like you to talk about that" by an employee that had been there for a while.
