      Pros

      great schedule flexibility - they don't open until 4 on weekdays awesome management great structure great training easy to move up in company

      small sections - 3 tables (i bartended so i ended up making great money)

      Pros

      Texas Roadhouse is a busy restaurant. You will make money if you learn how to give the best service to your guests. It is also really nice to be able to wear jeans and a tshirt to work. I worked at a franchise location, not a corporate location, so they were a lot less strict about the specific method. I've worked for Texas Roadhouse for 7 years and have really enjoyed my experience. Food is awesome. Seriously, best steaks around.

      Cons

      Although you have the ability to move up in the company, it is difficult to move to a position in which you can make more money. I make more money as a bartender than several of the hourly managers. It is definitely not a career place. Of course with any restaurant you can get the riff raff, but this place can be a magnet for rednecks that don't tip. Listening to country music all day will really start to get in your head as well.

      Pros

      I love interacting with guests and building long time relationships with them. Having to do all the "behind the scenes" office stuff is quite exciting as well.

      Cons

      Being in the restaurant business has taken its toll on me physically and I'm ready to move up in my career in the office setting.
