Pros

The potential of making a lot of money is there as long as you are in a wealthy area. The product you are selling is something you can stand behind.

Cons

It is very easy for older employees to snake sales from newer employees. Depending on the store, the environment on the sales floor can be very intense. There is a lot of favoritism played from regional supervisors/managers. The tile you sell is a quality product, but it is WAY overpriced. It is hard for a customer to take you seriously when you are capable of giving them an 80% discount on advertised pricing--the markup is insane.

Pros

Not many come to my mind. The shifts are too long to be standing on hard tile all day.

Cons

Although the manager is friendly the staff was horrible. The pay is borderline minimum wage, Most employees are only looking out for themselves.

Pros

The Sales staff across the company seems to be willing to offer a helping hand if you need it Its a cut and dry business Often there are changes to prices and product design

Cons

If you value your time Consider the following: They will hand you a commission structure however the paychecks are constantly incorrect (good luck with trying to calculate your paycheck) There is no job security Hypocrisy withing store management (often a trickle down system) On average you will be working 55 hours a week (200-220 hours a month) There is no compensation for labor (i.e. you will be moving a lot of tile and are expected to dress in button down and a tie.. or more formal) Management only cares for compensating themselves as you will understand if you make it through a few months of employment. Too many employees per shift. Although there is a formal way to secure your sales it is rare for these SOP's to be followed (as management would rather ignore these issues)
