Pros

You will learn everything there is to possible know about TILE - not much of a transferable skill set. This place will drive you insane and eventually you will quit so you wont have to suffer very long. Benefits are decent if you manage to stay long enough to be eligible for them.

Cons

The Pay structure is terrible. 100% commission and the company averages your sales so you dont even get paid on the total amount you sell. Pay plan constantly changes and company is constantly looking for ways to not pay you. The best selling items are always back ordered for months at a time which makes it impossible to close deals. The hours are extremely long 80+ a week and you work every weekend. Dont plan on having a life outside of this place. Can definitely make more money returning bottles and cans.

Pros

If you have the Drive for Success you will be successful at The Tile Shop. Do not be afraid of commission! If you want to double your salary...if you want to attain financial success...if you can sell...work commission! I have trained a few managers in my time at The Tile Shop, there is plenty of room for advancement. The old dogs are still running the company, which if you have worked in a corporate environment you know is important. The company has been around since the 80's and is now just getting into advertising, how many businesses have been successful and able to grow through recessions by just word of mouth?

Cons

Just like any other retail environment, long hours. Because the company is growing at such a rapid pace and making moves to better the company as a whole you have to be adaptable to change.

Pros

none, none, none, none, none

Cons

they mislead you. You are never going to: first - be the manager as they make you believe you are trained to be second - make the kind of money they tell you you will make You are poorly trained, you are in a cut throat environment competing for the small amount of customers with too many other sales associates, the rules are inconsistent
