Pros

IN THE BEGINNING…It was great! I was happy. Promised lots of stuff like attention to progression, a caring environment. Passionate people to work with. Great insurance and benefits like cheap meals (albeit CHEAP)

Cons

Awful leads. FAKE FAKE FAKE people. You need to brown nose just to get anywhere. "Embrace And Drive Change" at quick rates, regardless how dramatic changes happened, i.e. WMS, (the Amazon warehouse management that went into place went COMPLETELY awry) The time when our system was hacked (probably a disgruntled employee), we had to "embrace and drive change" by being moved out of one position into another. The constant feeling that you are probably the next one to go after seeing 3-4 of your "family" get terminated out of the blue. Too much of a party place made for kids right outa high school, unless you have been with the company since the beginning.

Pros

They shut you up with free alcohol, the benefits and free food (when its fresh)

Cons

Where to begin? The management is a joke! If you dont sleep, do drugs or drink with management you are not being promoted! They don't do annual pay increases, expect you to pick up extra work and adapt to all the changes in an understaffed dept with no additional pay! We were promised annual bonuses as long as we had a end of year profit (were a billion dollar company)..that bonus stopped 3yrs ago. Their first priority is not their employees! There main focus is appearing wonderful to the community and claiming to uplift downtown LV. In reality they are kicking mom and pop shops out to buy everything downtown! The charity work is all an act to have the public feel this is the best place ever! My mother passed away suddenly in 2012, I asked Zappos for help with funeral cost and there reaction was unfortunately we can not do anything and if I sent a corp email asking for help could lead to termination. Once we got with Amazon everything has changed! If you express any concern that goes against the grain, will put a target on your back and matter of time before your fired! Do not work here!!

Pros

-Friendly co-workers -Good work environment -Freedom to move fast without fear of punishment from breaking things

Cons

-General lack of focus on running the business; everything has become about improving downtown which has been a tremendous distraction and makes little business sense (I know pitch -- create a downtown tech community and be able to hire from that talent pool -- but it's all cover for the fact that Tony is over Zappos) . I can't believe that Amazon is OK with this. -Tony, Zappos CEO, has stated publicly that he spends "100% of his time on Downtown Project." -Lower-than-average compensation due to no e-commerce competition in the area. -Reduced health benefits over the past year (you don't need to pass increased costs onto your employees just like you don't have to pass on fluctuations in UPS shipping prices onto your customers). -Spin factor: the company has become fond of sugar coating everything instead of communicating with us like adults (see health benefits, downtown project, tech projects).
