NO SICK DAYS
Working with kids you get sick often and once you run out of PTO you are allowed up to 7 unexcused absences. After 7 you are terminated. The absence will be unexcused even if you have a doctors note saying you cannot be at work.
There is no real training. In order to become an RBT you are required to complete a 40 hour online training course. They give you some time to complete this while at work (you’re paid 15 an hour for all training and meetings). However, you are mostly just put to overlap other therapists on kids. Most of the people working here are not RBT certified so who knows if you’ll get correct information or not. A lot of times they have new people training new people.
Management is unorganized and doesn’t care about employees. RBTs do so much work and are not compensated for it. The BCBAs get taken to lunch and get to order lunch with the company card while most of the RBTs are struggling financially and work through lunch without eating.
Management also tends to pick favorites. They seem to care more about trying to get new hires to stay rather than rewarding the people who have been there for years. Turn around is high and most of the experienced therapists have left.
The center is not properly cleaned which has to contribute to patients and employees getting sick frequently. Most of the toys are broken or missing pieces or missing batteries. Sometimes during lunches you are expected to work with multiple patients while only being paid as if you’re working with one patient even though the company is paid per patient for that time.
Honestly, therapy and beyond cares about money more than it cares about employees and it’s patients. They’re trying to cram as many patients into the building as they can but people are quitting faster than they can keep up. All of this has contributed to the quality of therapy going down.
