Clinicians have no autonomy! Again, clinicians have no autonomy! We don’t get to make our schedule without running it by our RCD, we have no control over intakes, forget about contacting HR because they’ll throw you under the bus and loop in your RCD. Like why am I being hindered from contacting HR about a HR question? I am under the salaried tier clinician model which is a Guinea pig experiment with no structure. Everything is about numbers!!! It isn’t about the clients or the care of the clinician at all! I’ve truly hated my experience with thriveworks. Oh and the sign on bonus they give you? Lol they include it with your regular pay so you’re gonna get TAXED TAXED. They advertised a 2k sign on bonus but you don’t get 2k at all or anywhere near when they tax it with your regular pay check (sign on bonus has ALWAYS been separate in my experience)and I hated my RCD. Found out she had been lying to me for MONTHS about evenings and weekends being “mandatory” when in fact it’s a preference ! I had already told her it was effecting my work/life balance and she said “that’s what you signed up for” which was a lie smh terrible place to work!

The idea with Thriveworks is that they take a bigger cut of your per session fee in exchange for providing all administrative/scheduling/billing support - so that you as the clinician can focus solely on providing care to clients. This is not the case at all. The billing team is a call support center with high rates of turnover-- so they often make mistakes on client's bills, and client's come to you as clinician upset- and you have nothing that you can do to aid them except to send an email to the billing team yourself and to cc your manager-- an email that will also likely be ignored or which will take over a week to be replied to. Scheduling support is a joke-- I found "support" made so many mistakes with my schedule and was never actually available to support me, that I ended up by just completely managing my clients on my own. Also thriveworks says that instead of waiting for reimbursement, they pay you a flat, guaranteed session rate-- but this rate is so low, it's just not competitive with the market. This is all a frustrating work environment-- but what creates burnout is seeing a situation that is getting in the way of client care, and feeling that your hands are tied and that you can't do anything to fix it. Internal emails to staff have encouraged us to focus on retaining clients, filling out incident response forms, and directing us to not talk about Roe v. Wade with clients. To the last point, a correction email was later sent out-- but the primary email was sent by 4 of the top people in leadership, so it definitely was not a mistake. Also there is no "team" culture, so all the emails about "the Thriveworks Team" feel ironic. Suffice it to say, the sell for theraputic freedom just isn't there. And with rampant billing mistakes and a focus on profit and corporate image over client satisfaction or employee satisfaction, I'm out.
