Pros

Good benefits, about 10 holidays in addition to volunteer days

Cons

Position was posted as hybrid and Recruiter told me the job was a 3 / 2 (office 3 days, home 2 days) which was a big deal for me since my commute was over 1 hour. My first day I learn everyone works a 4 / 1. I was livid to say the least that the Recruiter lied to me about the working arrangement which I think is incredibly unethical. Apparently the role I signed on for was difficult to fill so that likely incentivized the Recruiter to get someone in the role at any cost. My boss tried to let me work a 3 / 2 but there was too much pressure from the top and everyone else in the department was doing a 4 / 1. The CEO is very old school, wants everyone in the office everyday. In addition to the unethical recruiting practices, I also was financially impacted by the Recruiter’s lie since I had left a job with a large bonus coming in the next 6 months, but I had negotiated a sign on bonus with Tokio to cover some of that loss. However, since the position turned out to be a 4 / 1, I left within 6 months because of my commute and had to pay back most of the sign on bonus I got from Tokio. I had to pay back the sign-on because of my “breach of contract” but I still maintain Tokio breached contract first since they lied to me about the working arrangement. All around a very bad experience with the Houston headquarters, HR department specifically.

Pros

Training each year was nice. That's about it.

Cons

CIO and Deputy CIO completely out of touch and bringing in their cronies from their prior company to build up management while the workers get stiffed. They made IT management heavy and it's destroyed morale. Now employees are starting to purge and there is no stopping it. No career path.

Pros

Overall, I have really enjoyed working here. My job is low stress. My manager is amazing and my team members are great too. I have good coverage healthcare at an affordable cost and the PTO policy is decent.

Cons

Required to commute in 3 days a week. I know in my position, there’s absolutely no benefit to working in the office and it’s extremely irritating to have to work in the office when all I do is come in, sit at my desk, go to lunch, sit back at my desk, and leave. I live almost an hour away and I would just really appreciate the opportunity to work remotely full time to not have to deal with a stressful commute. And I’m extremely introverted so sometimes I feel really overwhelmed with everyone around, especially on busier days. Lastly, pay could be better to keep up with the rising costs of everything.
