Pros

The friendships I made with my team and fellow recruiters.

Cons

If you want to work in the most toxic work environment, have 0 work-life balance, work under constant pressure, be talked down to and belittled by nurses, be stressed over job security, be micromanaged by your team lead and director, and have no way of tracking your commissions than this is the job for you. Unrealistic quotas in a down market and very strict KPIs. The competition beats you out far too many times. Not all recruiters are treated equally. There is no continued or on-going training and you are definitely a number here, don't count on anyone actually caring about you as a person or what you bring to the table. They DO NOT care. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.

Pros

Made some great relationships with healthcare workers and coworkers.

Cons

Lack of management. Micromanaging. Bias. After working for a company that values me as an individual, for my work ethic and skills, I would not take a position with this company again. I started in Covid The companies expectations were reasonable for the time. It was very easy to recruit and stay consistent during covid, because the applicant pool was vast. When the market crashed after covid was over, the company kept their same expectations. They did not take into account the hundreds of thousands of dollars that had been earned by each recruiter previously. They only looked at where you were currently and didn't factor in the unstable market. Eventually they changed management for the entire office because they thought "maybe the managers are the reason people are struggling and not our high expectations in this broken market". I lost an amazing manager due to this. Micromanagement started - 50 cold calls a day, 500 text messages a week. Then the "coaching plans" that give you 4 weeks to gain more nurses on your books before termination. These were constantly extended of course, as they would have to pay unemployment if they actually fired you. This was more of a ploy to get you to quit on your own. Team leads had no responsibility either, it was simply checking off boxes for them so they could report to management and say they did everything they could to help us succeed when they themselves were also failing. Eventually it was a matter of hanging on to your job by a thread. It's hard to put the blame on anyone for the poor guidance and management there because no one was trained. The excuse was always "I am just telling you what I was told". The only good thing I got from this company was the experience to move up, and never work for an agency like them again.

Pros

There are good individuals. Most bottom level staff are decent regular people just like you. They are so disorganized that even if you have NO IDEA what you are doing, you'll still have a job for at least a year. Everyone is drunk, including your boss and their boss. While this makes for havoc, it also means that if you are a low performer you'll be able to fly under the radar for a while. There will be a lot of new skills to put on your resume when you look for a new job in six months to a year. Lots of opportunities for overtime, because they expect you to work 60 hours a week to make up for the constant failings of their toxic leadership.

Cons

Most (but not all) long term employees are bottom of the barrel. They are not competent enough to work for a more organized company so they stay at totalmess. They tend to LOVE the company because their incompetence goes unnoticed due to the fact that leadership is clueless and perpetually drunk. Be suspicious of people who stay longer than two years. Leadership pay people in California the same wage their Midwest employees and can't fathom why a person in California has a higher cost of living. I mean, I'd be embarrassed to admit that I ran a company and didn't understand inflation, but at totalmess ELT wears their ignorance like a badge of honor. Racism everywhere. There is a lot of lip service about diversity, but in my time there I saw every POC pushed out by the (let's be gracious here) "poor manners" of the Midwest staff. Terrible benefits - For a company in the medical field, they sure are terrible and negotiating rates. The plans I was offered were the most expensive plans I've ever seen. Also, they don' pay enough to afford them. Toxic Management - The Leadership team is so toxic they can't hold on to quality staff for more than about a year. The fish rots from the head, as they say. I saw many talented middle management leaders come in, build a team, then leave out of frustration because of low pay and dealing with the morally suspect and disorganized upper management. HR is a joke- They handle every complaint by telling you they're going to do something about it, then not doing any thing about it.
