Pros

Ability to advance within your career. If you work hard you will be promoted. The organization is full of amazing people who truly want to make a difference within the healthcare staffing agency.

Cons

I truly hate to write this review but it feels like it’s long overdue. I spent several years working for TotalMed in a few different roles. I recently left the organization and although there were some pros or working for the organization the cons drastically outweighed the pros. Pay is well below industry average. TotalMed often attracts new grads or candidates without a staffing background as very few people with a staffing background will come to TotalMed due to the pay. It seems the commission plans get changed for the worse every single year. Can you make very good money here? Yes you can, but you can also make significantly more money for significantly less work, stress, and headache at other staffing agencies. It seems every year the sales and recruitment teams continually get more put on their plates with less pay. The company is drastically losing very good employees as they’re sick or working so hard for a salary and commish structure that isn’t appealing. This continually gets brought up and nothing ever changes. It seems the organization would rather bring in new grads who have no experience and pay them the bare minimum than to keep the top producers and pay them a good salary and commission structure. The organization does a very good job at promoting within which is great, but often a strong producer gets moved into a management role and truly struggles to manage a team. Most people I’ve spoken with are truly burnt out. The organization keeps asking for more, more, more and the stress and the pressure just isn’t worth it any longer. If you ask almost anyone in a recruitment or sales capacity at this company, they will most likely tell you they are mentally burnt out. If you look at the reviews on Glassdoor, over a dozen 5 star ratings were posted in middle 2020. This is clearly by management being told to post these reviews. The reviews are very non descriptive and use similar langue “awesome” “amazing” “culture.” That's coming straight from the leaders of the organization to improve ratings. It’s very sad as this is the epitome of the organization to just put a bandaid on the issue and hope it goes away.

Pros

Not many pros to list other than employees were great to work with.

Cons

ELT is rarely in the office and on vacation more than any of the employees, when they were in the office it was rare to be acknowledged by any of them. Even a passing hello was rare. New CFO took away all annual merit increases for all back end positions with no advanced warning. Very cliquey staff, back stabbing and gossiping in nearly every department with the worst being HR. Promotions are primarily given to those that are friends with the hiring manager or close friends of the ELT. No one in management is given any formal training yet critiqued for not pushing staff enough. HR is a nightmare, no consistent policies are abided by. Sales and recruitment is rarely if ever disciplined for serious mistakes while back end departments are terminated for the same mistake. Confidential doesn't exist, every word that is said is used against your for their benefit.

Pros

I don't have any I can think of.

Cons

Very dissatisfied with their reliability. They don't return calls, payroll issues,no PTO, signed me up for an area I had made it very clear I wouldn't work exposing me to verbal abuse by coworkers and management at the hospital I signed on. Disorganized (told me I was done with all the Modules then called me two days later to say I had several more). Did not pay at same rate as 2 other agencies, Main complaint just didn't do what they said.
