Pros
Toys! Some teams are great to work with. ASM's are now paid the min 48.5k for being exempt salary employees.
Cons
Company as a whole is in dire straits financially and have cut back labor budgets so heavily, it is nearly impossible to function at the store level. The company's financial statements clearly show their debt is not decreasing (and are struggling to get some vendors to continue working with them). Managers have had their bonuses cut back significantly to help curb expenses. Anyone getting paid salary is overworked with the company claiming a minimum of 45 hours per week but usually closer to 55 hours during off-peak season and 80 or more during peak-season (Managers work a mandatory min of 10-12 hour shifts, 6 days per week from mid November to end of December). Benefits are very expensive and are not very good (High deductible health plans with HSA which company contributes up to a maximum of 750 per year to). Tenured employees (including management) are leaving in droves which means constantly trying to train new-hires with a severely limited labor budget.
