Pros
Well, the hours are excellent during the Christmas season. Some complain about the long days and frequent calls of "Can you come in?" but as a poor college student, the extra income was nice. The other coworkers who are seasonal are usually pretty fun to work with. The pay is not good, but it's not bad. It's minimum wage, but honestly what else can you expect starting out in a place like this? SOMETIMES you get really nice customers who are easy to talk to you and thank you genuinely for your help.
Cons
Employees who are not seasonal - who are full-time or regular - generally treat you like dirt. The managers don't really treat you like anything, since they are always holed up in their locked offices. The amount of training given to new seasonal employees is basically non-existent. I had to teach myself how to use the cash registers, which really belong in an antique store. One day during my shift I came in and found that I was scheduled to work the floor, I had no idea what I was supposed to do. I asked the manager and she told me to basically walk around the store. ?? You will probably have to come in at an ungodly hour on Black Friday.
