Pros

* Wonderful people * Will learn a lot * Great company culture, sincerely nice people * Beautiful campus, gym, Starbucks, nice cafeteria * Fun events to boost morale

Cons

* Those wonderful people you work alongside every day will get laid off. * Huge lay offs every year * You will learn a lot because you will be doing the job of 4 people. * Fresh out of college kids, with no experience, are practically running the place, poorly * The company is struggling. No raises. No bonuses. You will work very hard for no financial incentive. * No job security

Pros

Most stores are geared towards becoming a one-stop shop. TRU is a unique specialty toy store which can not only provide great toys for the family during the Christmas season, but all year long. Management staff is very supportive. Monthly Training initiatives are geared towards improving customer service and team engagement, which all equate to a better customer experience.

Cons

Returning Seasonal employees, do not receive additional compensation for previous store experience. I eventually left the company because having 19+ years of retail experience and excellent surveys and customer feedback did not allow me to earn higher wages or management opportunities. You may often become discouraged by coworkers who strive to do as little as possible while you over compensate for their lack of interest in company goals, but don't give up. The people who steal will eventually be fired, but the lazy people will never be fired because good workers are extremely hard to find and management would rather keep their numbers than fire the bad employees.

Pros

My co-workers are awesome. Anyone supervisor and lower would do anything for anyone. Perks like access to hard to find items is good for parents and if management is ok with it.

Cons

MANAGEMENT. Spent a little over 1.5 years with the company and had 7 hourly managers and 4 store managers and 2 district managers each with their own agenda so expectations where constantly changing. Normally this wouldn't be bad except things that where wrong became right and vice versa. My position and title changed 4 times in that short amount of time then I was expected to perform the duties of a supervisor as a part time employee because management took about 3 months to fill a vacancy I was passed over that position without a good explanation as to why. I was told the work I did was good.
