Pros

10% discount. Get treated like family depending on your location. scheduling depends on work ethic. Kids and toys...

Cons

Lack of training. You are trained for 2-4 hours the first day and are expected to work solo by your second day. On top of that you'll be expected to train other new hires when you yourself are a new hire. If you have previous retail experience, go for it. But if it is your first job, I would not recommend seasonal position because it is not enough time to learn everything and black Friday will be an ulcer in your stomach. And last of all, expect to figure things out by yourself because you will be by yourself. If you can't sell enough rewards, protection plans, or credit cards, say hello to working 8 hours a week and less.

Pros

Often a great atmosphere, easy to form positive work relationships and in some cases has a very strong family like bond amongst co-workers. It's the greatest toy store in the world so interacting with people and/or their kids and seeing them happy makes for an easy confidence boost even on a bad day. Very flexible management when it comes to working hours if you're also going to school, have second job or other responsibilities.

Cons

The further you move up in the company the harder it is to justify the pay for the work that is often asked of you. There is an expectation to be cross trained in as many areas as possible which isn't a bad thing at all but the problem is when that cross training often involves being scheduled in a brand new department with minimal support on a busy business day. It can deteriorate morale somewhat when you feel you aren't capable for the job you were assigned to and yet it's no fault of your own.

Pros

-Rotational Program Provides you with everything you need to be a business leader, whether you want to do Merchandising, Supply Chain, or Retail Operations in 2 1/2 years. Also an international rotation. I have never heard of program getting you where you want to be faster, and more effectively than at Toys "R" Us. - Comprehensive Training Program where they ACTUALLY care about your development and learning. My Mentor, Sponsor, Managers, and Coworkers have given me all the tools I need to be successful, and I can go talk to anyone at any time whether it is my director, manager, or coworker. If you want to know more about a function of the business, you can ask and they can set up meetings and classes for you. You become an expert in business, not just your current role. - Leadership Team from Managers, Directors, VP's, EVP's, and even our CEO Dave himself make an effort to get to know you and want you to be successful. I have worked at other retailers, and no one has ever cared about my personal development as much as them- it's really remarkable that they know my name and want me to be a leader. -Coworkers are bright, very team oriented, and the culture is very fun and positive. They have many events and giveaways to their employees often to show their appreciation. My manager even throws birthday parties for our team members. -Very good salary, benefits, and you get lots of free toys! -Great work life balance and summer Fridays. -Campus complete with a cafeteria, Starbucks, gym, dry cleaners, and multiple floors and towers- with a lake front view.

Cons

-Recent Filing, however this is a restructuring, and the business is going to come back stronger than ever before.
