Pros
The hiring process was quick and for better or worse, most paperwork was handled by my local store I am employed at. From the first day my coworkers have been helpful and supportive. Management likes to keep us motivated to get credit card signups and offered us free ice cream one day if we get a signup.
Cons
There is almost no actual training provided. Orientation provided the typical "welcome" videos and a scavenger hunt to get to know the store. My first real shift they handed me a shirt and I spent the day standing behind one of my coworkers watching how different actions are handled on the register. My second shift I was given my own register and left to figure most things out for myself. Their tracking of employees seems to be rather poor. I'm a high school student and when I went in to have my working permit filled out, they seemed rather confused and told me to come back when the manager who hired me was in. For my second shift, I was called one Saturday and asked why I hadn't showed up for my shift, when I in fact was not scheduled. I went in and they told me they made a mistake and were looking at the wrong person's schedule, they ended up having me work anyways.
