Pros

You get to Work from home

Cons

Be prepared for Two Chairs to micromanage everything you do as a therapist via “performance metrics.” No shows, cancellations (out of counselor’s control) is a performance metric. The length of your sessions is a performance metric. Must graduate everyone in 12-20 sessions. Will give you clients with lifetime of trauma and then do a deep dive into why you haven’t made them better in 20 sessions months. Although clients have 15 minutes to show up for session, you are told to instruct them to show up on time and use up the whole hour. Otherwise, you get a talking to for not billing the whole hour. In most recent news, 500 clinicians were “taught” that trauma clients experiencing distress apparently don’t meet medical necessity. Imagine the harm.

Thank you for raising these concerns. Our mission is to provide ethical, client-centered care, and we never take that responsibility lightly. We understand that working with clients experiencing significant trauma can require more flexibility than standard care models allow. We also understand how metrics can feel constraining. Feedback like yours helps inform how we support clinicians while upholding clinical best practices and improving outcomes. We will share your comments with our clinical leadership and compliance teams.

Pros

This place was great when I started a few years ago. Pros include the tech support, software, and supportive managers.

Cons

Working here now feels like a bait and switch. Now that the company is growing fast, suddenly we are expected to work hours that are “more popular” I.e. more back to back sessions. In addition to this, we are now expected to provide care in a shorter time span, similar to other tech mental health companies. All of this without consideration of how this impacts the clinicians. There is no sick time, or 401k match. PTO is low. Pay is also mid to low range for CA.

Pros

They offer lots of support, training, engagement to their therapists. Great benefits as well. Great for new therapists who want a lot of support and engagement with their company and/or supervisor.

Cons

Definitely a tech/startup environment. Heavy weight on client attendance, clients completing screening tools weekly, mandatory meetings, lots of meetings/engagement which may not be desired by seasoned therapists. Therapist scheduling/hour flexibility with clients are impacted by mandatory meetings.
