      Pros

      My experience at UMICO was working my way up from clerk to management reporting to sr. management. I worked hard and I made a good buck. They pay well. I worked there just under 25 years. At the time, I highly recommended them as an employer.

      Cons

      Very political. If you get stuck working for the wrong person, everything you proved in 25 years to get to where you were, is suddenly invisible. If you are a woman working in a man's world, they will let you know that they favor their men friends for your job and have no problem eliminating jobs to get rid of people that never had a bad performance review ever. It's who you know that gets you promoted. You have to play the game or they will eventually cut you.

      None. I am glad I am gone.

      Cons

      I wish I could give this company no star. I am not sure who gave 5 stars because they are not telling the truth. I worked in a support role in a different region. My supervisor had no insurance experience. You try to tell her the process and she does not want to hear it. I have been there for 4 years so I know what I am doing. Your supervisor is in a different city so it makes it hard to communicate. I have never met my supervisor. I am currently work for a company that listen to their employees instead looking down at you. I am sure my department is stuggling down because all the people that left knee what they were doing.

      Pros

      Very employee centric, small, but not too small where its a favoritism based situation. Excellent pay, growth opportunities, excellent home/work life balance. They are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Onboard training was excellent. I've spent 8 years in insurance, and easily see myself spending the remainder of my career here.

      Cons

      Technology can be lacking, but they have poured a lot of money into fixing it and are very attentive to IT needs.
