Pay is not equal to others at the same level. New hires are paid more than employees that have been there 10 yrs. Some managers make less than people they manage.

Terrible training. Company wasn’t honest to us about schedule changes. They make no accommodations, my manager was predjudfice. They hide resource from employees.

VSP has a solid reputation among the Physician community, but the organization uses antiquated, manual process to solve many complex problems in its finance department. -The PAT (profitability analytics) Costing Group is highly dysfunctional and poorly managed. Very Toxic group within a disorganized, poorly led finance org. -Silo Workplace Mentality is rampant throughout finance, esp in PAT. -Very little Collaboration, in fact, it is discouraged in PAT. -Bullying Behaviors and Tyrannical Managers allowed. -Poor Communication. -Bad Attitudes throughout. -Ineffective Leadership. -Company Benefits are dwindling. -C-Suite fails to communicate with truthfulness re recent/current layoffs and benefit reductions.

All managers are new to their roles and very unfamiliar with certain processes.

Seems that moving up in this company involves a little favoritism, or just depends what team you are in.

The raises are once a year and they aren't very much. If you have a manager who doesn't show employee appreciation, it makes it harder to push yourself to do more for the team.

Benefits could be better. They have increased the amount of PTO for 2023, and the new medical plan for 2023 is better than the previous year. However, they don't offer paid maternity leave, PTO takes awhile to build up, and dental insurance is not cheap. Also, there's no room for advancement. Most people at VSP Vision have worked there for 20 plus years and they haven't changed roles at all. So if you work here be prepared to stay in the same role for awhile, unless you decide to move internally to another team or department.
