Pros

Focus on solution sales instead of individual products to win the total market share of indirect spend at your customers. Large territory doesn't limit you, but it's small enough that there's usually no overnight travel. Good compensation and car reimbursement program.

Cons

Vallen is still not a known name, making it hard to compete against more established industrial products distributors. The distribution has a lot of hiccups still.

Pros

Gained experience that helped me find a better job, decent benefits, average vacation /sick time.

Cons

Unsafe working conditions, racism and sexism from management (I don't say those things lightly), pays minorities less, talking about pay is a fireable offense, fire people solely because they don't "fit in", does not reward hard work, management not present in daily operations and is unwilling to help, company is disorganized and cannot keep promises to customers, promotes lazy people, nepotism, hires family or friends with no experience, unrealistic expectations for warehouse employees, no room for growth especially for women and minorities. This is one site. I cannot speak for them all. I quit the job, did not get terminated.

We take these concerns very seriously as Vallen is committed to creating a positive work environment in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity. Any associate with concerns is asked to contact a member of the Human Resources Department. In the event an associate would like to remain anonymous, we have an associate hotline available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Associates can find this number in their employee handbook. All reported allegations of harassment, discrimination or retaliation are investigated promptly.

One of the areas we have been dedicated to improving is our merging our current systems into one and we are happy to report that we are on track and will have our conversion complete in the near future.
