Pros

I would say overall that Verkada is a fun and exciting startup. There is a fun culture and we really do have the best product out there.

Cons

A lot of changes that has made the fun company become a lot more micro-managing from the top down. Cold call blocks for this industry are incredibly difficult as a mid-market rep. The mid-market opportunities are ran as enterprise cycles which means some opportunities can take 3 months to a year, depending on the territory you get quota can be unattainable. OTE is incredibly small compared to the amount you have for a quota.

Pros

Culture: Work hard, make a lot of $, and have fun while doing it Comp Plan: Uncapped commission, large TAV deal Transparency: Metrics driven organization gives you visibility to where you stand with performance week over week (competitive people WIN big here!) Product Market Fit: We are the best in class product - no one even comes close to what we do! Remote Flexibility: While there are metrics to hit, no one is micro-managing your D2D - you have the flex to work hard when you need to and get your work done Channel Driven: Leads and opportunities come from relationships with partners Leadership: Verkada has some great sales leaders at the top of the org that are driving exceptional growth

Cons

Enterprise Training: The 2 week on-boarding is tedious, but necessary. Verkada has invested in hiring an enterprise level training team, but for now, the training was a bit overkill (cold calling 101, how to prospect, etc not needed at the ENT level) Accounts: Very strict about who sells what accounts - if you have a connection that no one has worked with, you still have to pass to the appropriate AE supporting that account (MM, ENT, Global, etc) which is understandable, but a bit frustrating if you've worked in the industry and want to utilize your connections Metrics and quota driven: If you don't hit quota, you better be at the top of the "hustle" board or you will be fired. It takes about 6-8 months to get fully ramped up, but after that, it is crystal clear if you are not putting in the work (which is a pro to me, but con to others)
