Pros

Pretty building. Nice location (although sometimes the number of homeless campers pitching tents can be a bit overwhelming). Company pays for annual public transportation passes and health plan is decent.

Cons

For many years, employees have sacrificed competitive wages for culture but that culture has not been maintained by the new overlords, Bain Capital, after the Haladay family sold and moved on. Nowadays, employees who see through the weak facade, questionable promise of a bonus and other tales spun by the overlords have lost heart.

Pros

The building and view are great. Some of the people are cool. A medium sized, usable gym.

Cons

Management has a lack of real experience and no idea how to lead. Management and executives do not care how normal employees feel. Executive management is very detached and is unaware of the employee satisfaction. Pay is not competitive, empty promises are made about pay increases and bonuses. Pay for performance is what they say but only those who create a false perception are rewarded. A lot of butt kissing takes place, people who don't produce anything (management, supervisors, product owners, execs). The work content is very mundane and boring, unless you love accounting and construction... No room for advancement or big pay increases for hard working employees who produce a lot of good work but refuse to suck up. No push towards human sustainability, management encourages long hours. Executives treat developers like they are unintelligent and won't see the wool being pulled over their eyes. HR does not protect employees, just a tool to protect management and the corporation. No recognition or celebration of high performing employees who don't put additional effort into standing out. Location is not great, next to train tracks in a dirty, homeless filled neighborhood.

Pros

Lots of opportunities to pave the way and help the business to adapt and grow if you are a motivated person. You need to be great at communicating to be accepted at Viewpoint, communicate your ideas, progress on initiatives and such. If you can rock a slides presentation with clear objectives you will be well received.

Cons

The growth goals and expectations are extreme, it’s clear they constantly axe VP heads to protect the highest level of leadership. They are a victim of our inflated acquisition price by Trimble. Nothing is ever good enough. I’d love to see management rapidly increase investment in the product development more. Give the sales group a fighting chance to rapidly grow. It’s very clear the business is heavily reliant on a small group of reliable SEs, Product unicorns from acquisitions and operational wizards across systems and legal.
