      Bad environment for APPs

      Pros

      They have an awesome EMR set with with Athena

      Cons

      This company works their APPs to death expecting them to perform at an even higher level than their physician counterparts with no incentive pay. They are a physician preferential system and it has become exceptionally worse since the Chicago entity took over. Stay away from this employer.

We value nurse practitioners and physician assistants as core members of our provider care team. Our value based bonus system (in 2021) rewards both physicians and APPs on the same clinical metrics. In fact, our new team-based incentive model pairs physicians and APPs so they are focused on a shared panel of patients and receive the same incentive payment. At Village Medical we know that the path to transforming primary care will require dedicated physicians and APPs --- we need everyone working together as a team to change outcomes for patients.       I’ve been at VillageMD less than 3 months and have seen my fair share of good and bad companies in the past. I love working for VillageMD because: 1) They are patient centric 2) Tons of opportunity for growth 3) Opportunity to work with some of the smartest people 4) Very driven organization looking to promote primary care clinical outcomes 5) Very accepting and respectful of different view points

      Cons

      The only con is the lack of resources to do a job well done. I hate the feeling of failure but there is only so much I can do without adding to my team.

      I was promised growth opportunities but none yet

      Pros

      Flexibility with schedules, PTO, good benefits. I overall like the company and the team.

      Cons

      Although I completed my BA and have attempted to reach out and put my foot in the door of other opportunities it feels like we get overlooked. The need to give more opportunities to people that might lack the experience, but have dedicated time and has performed well on current roles. Definitely lack of diversity in leadership positions. Overall loosing motivation to be part of the organization
