Fast-paced startup with an inspiring mission

Pros

Transparent. Leadership team is really dedicated to the mission and continuously taking in feedback and making action items. This is one of the few places in my career who actually REALLY WANT feedback, listen and seek to improve. I have appreciated the leadership increasing accountability and having the willingness to make positive changes to our team.

Cons

Fast paced. The mission to serve the entire United States and then later more is a huge undertaking. Takes people who love a challenge, love the uncertainty that the startup world brings and thrive on finding solutions. I think sometimes there is a mismatch for some team members who have not been part of a startup before about what a startup is really like.

Pros

- Having had experience with a startup in the past that was actually toxic and ended up going out of business, I've experienced first hand how unorganized, unprofessional, and flat out terrible life at a company and a startup in general, can be. I can say honestly since day 1 here, it has been a complete 180 from what I'd experienced with other companies and teams in the past. - Vori truly does walk the walk when it comes to company culture. They care about their teams think and do their best to be as transparent as they can be, whilst remaining in the appropriate confines of information that they are allowed to release. For a 100% remote company, it's been really impressive to see the teams succeed, the company improve, and build comradery better than most companies that still have on-site operations. The environment could literally not be further away from a toxic environment if they tried. They take very seriously their efforts on inclusion and spotlight for team members of all different backgrounds. The diversity in the team says it all. - Vori understands that company & team success is built by it's people and from everything I have witnessed first hand, they don't seem to half-ass this effort at all. Even went so far as to create an anonymous feedback channel within Slack so everyone in the org feels empowered to be blunt, honest, and ask tough questions without fear of repercussions. - They have made it a point to ensure that there is a great work/life balance for everyone. - 100% remote - C-Suite members are note-worthy, proven, care about the culture they are building - Tons of exciting developments announced - No company is perfect, but as someone who has experienced some good companies & horrific companies from both an entry-level perspective AND a management perspective, I can tell you confidently that I have never been with an organization that quickly frankly, has their crap together like Vori does, top to bottom.

Cons

- As with any startup, there will be changes and many things are fluid. Especially when you're a startup trying to navigate process and keep a business afloat during a pandemic and a recession. All while doing so 100% remotely. I would guess that most of the negative reviews are unfair, heat-of-the-moment responses to some of these tough changes. If you are thinking about joining Vori, it is a decision that you will not regret and I could not recommend this organization enough.

We take immense pride in our company culture and people like you help make it that way- so thank YOU! We are a start-up and things are fast paced and change does occur, but we love to hear that you are enjoying our transparency, work/life balance, and working with our leadership teams. Thank you for taking the time to write this positive review!

Thank you for your feedback. In our continued efforts to strengthen our leadership team, we are very proud to have recently surveyed our team members and received a leadership effectiveness score of 92%, a testimony of our teams confidence in our leaders. As a two-year-old company, our organizational structure has shifted with the needs of the business and we are grateful to have had over 2/3 of our team members hit their one-year anniversary milestone, inclusive of our Marketing team members. In partnership with our Finance team, we are continuing to evaluate ways to invest in our team members well-being and have already begun the process of planning next year’s benefits offerings to identify the best option given the current market. As always, we encourage any of our current or former team members to contact the People team with questions of additional feedback.
