Pros

Leadership is highly focused on peer groups and team building outings. They allow you to learn at your own pace. Working from home two days a week is beneficial.

Cons

Benefit package is limited. There is no matched 401k contribution unless you have at least 5 years vested, then it is only half of up to 4%. Paid time off is accumulated at a rate of .625 hours per pay period. That includes sick and vacation time. Although you do get 8 holidays per year there is only one floating holiday per year, and one volunteer day that doesn't roll over to the next year. Leadership should not over complicate simple matters. Why would it be so difficult for someone who is a tram lead to accept a client request to speak with a supervisor? Training should include benefits and usefulness of upsell opportunities.

We’re happy to hear that you enjoyed the culture and our focus on strong teams that we’ve worked so hard to build here at Waystar. Thank you for the feedback on the areas in which we can improve, those will be shared with the appropriate leaders to review and consider. Please note that our 401k vesting is over three years and a portion is vested every year, starting after year one.

Waterboarded with Kool-aid

Pros

If you ever wanted to be flooded with company logo swag, this is the place. Cups, jackets, shirts, frisbees, etc will be thrown at you - like the sugar in the koolaid it's plentiful and leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

Cons

You'll be promised the vision and lured by the possibilities under the guise of fixing healthcare, then you're job will change 2-3 times within a year and you're told you are welcome to leave it you don't like the changes to your role that you didn't sign up for. Healthcare is not being fixed through the claim billing and revenue cycle. You'll be told people are the best part of Waystar (koolaid) all while management (Ric) and his cronies are plotting your departure. There is no room for advancement as the cronies are already promised those positions and if you aren't a crony, you'll rot in your current role or get pushed downward.

We’re truly sorry that you did not have a better experience in your time with Waystar. We are a fast-moving company with a growth mindset, and we love to see our team members succeed. Career development is a collaborative process and Waystar strives to empower our team members to achieve their goals and move into roles they find satisfying. We have a long road ahead of us in our mission to simplify and unify the revenue cycle, but we are just happy to do our part in supporting our healthcare communities in this difficult time.

Horrible Place to Work

Pros

Casual dress attire for most teams.

Cons

I have never felt more devalued as a human than I did at Waystar. The pay is well below the industry average for this area. You are constantly put under completely unrealistic expectations. I had to work 60 and 70 hour weeks for years due to the insane amount of work I was responsible for. Then each year at review time was told I did an average job. The leadership is completely out of touch with employees. We took an employee satisfaction survey and got a low score. Then the leadership basically acted like the survey never happened. I know zero people that still like working at Waystar. Everyone is actively seeking other employment. Don't waste your time here.

We aspire to provide a healthy work-life balance for our team members so they can best serve their families and our clients. Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. We firmly believe our leaders want to see both the team members and Waystar as a whole succeed, which is why we encourage openness and honesty in our performance management cycle. Team member satisfaction and engagement are extremely important to us and we have made great strides to elevate our achievements in both of these areas across the company.
