Pros

Fantastic onboarding experience – thoughtful, organized, and truly welcoming. I felt set up for success from day one. Incredible people – smart, kind, and collaborative. Everyone’s eager to help and make you feel like part of the team. Strong, present leadership – approachable, transparent, and genuinely invested in both the business and the people. Culture actually lives up to the hype – everything I hoped it would be, and then some. Clear sense of purpose – the company’s mission and values are felt day-to-day, not just words on a wall. Exciting time to join – there’s great momentum, and you can feel the energy and drive across teams. People-first mindset – leadership balances high performance with humanity.

Cons

Honestly, none so far — the experience has exceeded expectations.

Waystar offers a collaborative work environment with smart, supportive colleagues. The company provides solid training for new hires, and the tools and products are genuinely valuable in the healthcare RCM space. Leadership is approachable, and there are frequent opportunities to get involved in meaningful projects.

Cons

While the experience and exposure are great, the compensation doesn’t reflect the level of responsibility or intensity of the workload—especially for roles in implementation and client-facing functions. It’s common for consultants to manage multiple complex projects at once with tight deadlines and high expectations, yet salaries remain below market average compared to competitors and similar healthcare tech firms. This can lead to burnout and high turnover, especially among younger team members or those early in their careers.
