Pathetic what this has come to...

Pros

There are still a lot of very worthy and talented people at Westinghouse, who, frankly, deserve better than what they are getting. 100+ year reputation that used to inspire admiration for technical prowess and employee commitment.

Cons

The culture has become deplorable. Internal politics dominate, and there is a pervasive sense of foreboding. Employee feedback and concerns are collected and used, but often twisted to rationalize leadership preconceptions and objectives. Favoritism is more transparent than the practitioners believe. Bullying is tolerated as long as it is exercised under the facade of accepted business programs or management discretion. As practiced here, the Safety Conscious Work Environment makes a very effective bully pulpit for personal agendas.

Pros

Not many... Nice building, great people at the working level

Cons

Employees (including engineers) are in constant fear of being fired as management attempts to reduce costs by forcing people out without layoffs. Safe to say they toe the line with some employment laws. Additionally, management focuses on the metrics that make them look good, not the ones that explain why the company is failing to deliver its projects. Westinghouse also continues to defer raises and shutdown key projects as it shovels money to keep the toshiba dumpster fire burning.

Pros

High pay scale is the only benefit, but you’ll need to tolerate a lot of management incompetence for your pay.

Cons

Incompetent leadership Ignorant owners No work-life balance ( i.e., it’s all work) Rampant cronyism Near constant force reductions C-Suite takes care of themselves at the expense of the workers I gave 10 years of my like to this company, and walked away because it was constant chaos. Whatever the recruiter is telling you is a flat out lie.
