Pros

Zions Bank has great upper level management. Starting with Scott Anderson, the senior vice presidents work hard to make sure that the employees are appreciated and informed on what is going on with the bank. There is also a great sense of community pride and service with Zions Bank. They do care about the clients they have and invest heavily in community needs and events.

Cons

Mid level management is not always on the same page as upper management. A lot of the mid level managers are typical "bankers" -- they have done things the same way for years so there is little room to be innovative or think out of the box. The pay scale as Zions is on the lower end compared to other financial institutions.

Pros

They are a local bank for the people. They are not diluted with management and personal games that occur and slow financial progress.

Cons

They are very motivated to succeed. If you just want to work and not care about success it is very difficult because the atmosphere is very addictive.Work hard play hard is how I would describe the work environment.

Pros

Best bank in Utah to work for in regards to job security. Management is in touch with their employees. Large enough to grow in yet small enough where you're not just a number. Recognized throughout the state as a reputable company.

Cons

Below average pay and even worse benefits. They seem content to let older managers/directors remain in their jobs even if they're not producing rather than bringing in younger/fresher talent. Most "higher-up" positions are hired from outside of the bank rather than oferred to loyal and highly qualified employees.
