Pros

Prior to starting at dotloop, my career objectives were simple, to make an impact in the world and to touch people's lives in a way that's never been done. dotloop has given me the opportunity to do just that. After my 4+ years at dotloop, the culture that's been created through dotloop's people has far exceeded my expectations. There's nothing more rewarding than waking up each day to come into a place where the people around you are not only excited about what we are doing, but share the same passions of impacting lives through the products and services we deliver. dotloop continues to innovate and create products that help people work, communicate, and build relationships easier than ever before. You can't put a price on the experience you'll gain at dotloop. We're on a wild ride that's just beginning. We're a fast paced innovating company that's fueled by a driven, passionate group of individuals out to change the world. The quote "Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life" has never resonated more true to me with my time at dotloop.

Cons

With innovation come challenges. As we've grown we've made mistakes just as every company does. I've been very impressed with how the company stays transparent with the mistakes that have been made, and learns from them to continue to grow and be better. Some people aren't ready for this ride, if you're looking for a typical 9-5, dotloop may not be for you.

Given your 4+ years tenure at dotloop, your comment about "culture being created through the people..." could not carry more weight. Meaning, our great culture is largely a function of surrounding the company with great people like yourself. So thank you very much for your tenure and for making dotloop a great place to work. Wonderful people/culture and a business model with limitless possibilities. Be prepared to work hard and be challenged.

Pros

I can't speak with heavy authority for those outside of the Innovation (Engineering, QA, Tech Ops) departments, but within Innovation I have never seen a better culture in the workplace in my decade-plus of being in the workforce. A great dynamic both professionally and personally. Nothing even slightly negative about anyone. If there is an aspect with an individual that is counterproductive, it is addressed and the individual takes active steps for improvement. Near absence of turnover. And from my experience outside of Innovation, the quality of people and culture seem consistent with what I've experienced within Innovation. Qualifying this with the fact that it depends on your position and manager, I get treated and compensated well. My hard work is recognized and the company responds in-kind. There are so many possibilities with this product. It's an exciting time.

Cons

You will get emails in the middle of the night; you will get emails on the weekend. If you want to be successful- you will send emails in the middle of the night; you will send emails on the weekend. Still pretty start-upy, so there's not a lot of vertical movement and training opportunities aren't at the forefront.

Wow. Thanks for this very thoughtful review. I couldn't agree more. What you all have created in the Innovation group is really special! Also loved your comment about the "Wall Street Journal regular". Our thoughts around expansion are aligned. The one thing that we'll need to continue to balance however, is focus. While we see a great deal of opportunities in new verticals, real estate alone is a very big industry that touches many others (mortgage, title, insurance, etc.). So you can expect that the organic network growth that we've seen in the ancillary verticals will continue to be an expansion channel for us in the near-term. Thanks for thinking big and for holding leadership accountable to doing the same! Austin

Pros

Fun atmosphere with lots of excitement day in and day out in the office. Not stuck in the boring culture of some work environments. Pretty good work life balance and fun activities for employees planned monthly.

Cons

Being a relatively new company there are always going to be changes and experiments on how best to do things. Need to be able to act quick on your feet and experiment with the most efficient way to get work done.

This is certainly a key attribute that we value in our culture. Af for your advice on sharing more detailed financial info, it would be great if you could share that feedback with your manager so that we have a specific understanding of what else you are looking for.
