Pros

The best reason to work at this company are your fellow coworkers. Everyone that I worked with was super nice, unique, and we all shared in the struggles of selling technology to people who didn't see the vision. For the most part, if you are performing and setting appointments with brokers, you are left alone and will not have anyone breathing down your neck. There is a high degree of autonomy in the workplace, and the freedom to build your pipeline is essentially up to you. The location is phenomenal (Longworth Hall) and you'll never have to worry about getting there on time or better yet, finding parking. The actual product that has brought the company to spotlight is definitely a success, and so if you are someone who believes in the power of technology to improve peoples lives, you'll see the benefits immediately once you understand how it works.

Cons

The Lead Specialist, or Advocate, roll is essentially a glorified secretary. Little of your time will be spent actually selling the product but rather selling someone, if you can keep them on the phone long enough, on doing an online demonstration of the system on a webinar. The job itself is made more difficult due to dirty lead lists of which you must scrub and research constantly. As someone who has never had an office desk job before, the time spent sitting still and staring at a computer screen ended up being a struggle in overcoming morbid boredom and monotony. The people you are speaking with largely will not want to give you the time of day much less a few minutes, and so the job itself can be very frustrating. Other cons include inconsistent expectations, pay is incredibly low given difficulty of sell (do not listen to HR pay estimates as they are largely inflated to attract candidates), and there tends to be an inner circle of "made" employees who aren't very inviting to input of other employees.

I just discovered the Employer response function on Glassdoor, so pardon my delayed response. It appears that you had a poor experience in our Sales group pre-2014. There is no question that we scaled our Sales team too quickly when we first launched it in late 2012. Since then, we've made many changes and are quite pleased with the results. You are also right to call out the difficulty of selling to real estate brokers. While the product is great as you mentioned, getting a mature industry to change habits is hard. That's something that we've tried to be up front about in new hiring to ensure that expectations are clear and that everyone is set up for success. Thanks for your feedback! Austin

The culture is fun and energetic. The people are great. Tons of growth potential ahead.

Cons

The company moves very fast, which may be an adjustment someone coming from a bigger company.
