Pros

- beautiful working space - creative and exciting atmosphere - young, engaged, diverse workforce - good salaries, competitive benefits package - strong focus on employee engagement, satisfaction

Cons

- company is clearly on the cusp of big changes - can be exciting but requires a LOT of flexibility in expectations for role - feels like goal posts move a lot - not a start-up anymore, but trying to maintain start-up like flexibility. Does need to institute some more form and function across the board so everyone understands their role and deliverables

Pros

Good work environment, please do read the cons section breifly and try to understand it as you were in my shoes for once.

Cons

- So today was a busy day in the support department After being burnt out from taking calls after calls after calls, I wanted to take a 5 minute breather which was taken by permission of the supervisor. The only matter was the current supervisor was active in some important duties and I thinking it was a better idea to ask the available supervisor on floor to take breather would be a better idea to avoid any distractions. Turns out, it was not a good idea because some how or the other, I offended my actual supervisor by not waiting to ask for taking a breather. I did not by any means attempt to offend and apologized immediately for a 5 minute breather that I took. Which was still no good and was warned thst the company will not tolerate the action. Yes, I am aware of the hectic schedule supervisors have on a daily basis. Yes, I could in fact be in fault for that. But yet, I apologized immediately despite taking permission. I got sent off back to work and got a little teary eyed on the fact that despite working on the awkward shift times that I have been placed in, which inpacts hugely on my social life. Living alone in a country without parents, working hard and doing my best to show up at work to be there for our customers. The care the drive and everything.. There is no recognition or even a pat on the back saying somethung like ´you know what, you did a great job today, try doing even better’ .. instead you get ´this company will not tolerate this act, thats all i have to say’ It is 3 A.M in the morning currently as i am writing this message. I honestly love the company and the work ethics. But I cried today because this is the result of no matter how much driven you are, and shows that this certain department, is more on favouraitism and no equality. Thank you ecobee.

Hello, thank you for taking the time expressing your concerns, we apologize for the experience that you had during your shift. This is not the work environment that we promote at ecobee. As our team continues to grow, we do our best to ensure that our Supervisors, who are new to managing people, are continually supported to help them develop their people management skills to better handle situations. The Leadership team is responsible for developing their team members through coaching/mentoring/training and invest considerable time through this process. We have recently launched a supervisor and management training program for the Customer Support team specifically which is designed to ensure that all members of our team have the right tools and skills to be successful. If you feel you have not been fully supported, then improvements are needed. I would be more than happy to meet with you in confidence and assure you that your concerns will be addressed. Thank you, Andrew G (Director, Customer Service)

Pros

- The culture of the office is very welcoming and friendly. Supervisors and managers are always open for questions and assistance. - The job is fast paced and once you've gained enough knowledge about the product, providing support starts to come easier and easier. - Snacks and drinks are provided. There's a ping pong table and a dart board and an arcade game setup in the lunch room for breaks. - During my time here, whenever I've seen an issue brought up to management they've always tried to address or resolve it within reason. They go above and beyond to provide an equal and fair environment for the employees, while also meeting business needs. - Great benefits plan, great salary for what the job entails, stock options in an emerging tech company, 3 weeks vacation. - There's often overtime available, especially during the busy seasons. - Opportunities to move around in the company often pop-up and are often encouraged to get people into positions that better suit them.

Cons

- The rotational shift work isn't the greatest, but it's what needs to be done to meet the needs of the business. It's not too bad, you may just end up working a month of afternoon shifts every few months. - Due to the rotational shift work, your weekends won't always fall on Saturday/Sunday, however weekends are always two consecutive days.
