Pros

Cant think of any. They lure you in, leading you to believe they know what they are doing, and will be creating something that will "change the world"...But do your homework. Ask to see roadmaps. Reach out to past employees, and ask about their experience there. Ask to see finances or even a dam org chart! This guy has started and failed a number of different companies, and is frog-leaping cities to run from them.

Cons

This company has zero shot of succeeding. Its sucks that they are able to convince smart, talented people to join this company. Some families relocate and sacrifice so much, and in my short time there, I saw multiple people fired without any conversation before hand. Most of the talented people leave within a few weeks, as soon as they realize the shitshow that is going on. They have no HR function. No org chart. No Levels. No bonuses. Equity is Nothing. Its literally 3 guys reading books on tech companies, then trying to implement what they read or saw on the latest tech startup documentary. I feel so bad for anyone who leaves a stable job or turns down other offers to join here. Ive seen them literally pay to relocate people to work on a "Start up launch idea". only to scrap it 2 weeks after they start, and then fire them because "they dont have anything from them to do now"... Most people work here for such a short amount of time, they dont even include the blimp that is rex on their linkedin or resume bc its embarrassing. So you cant even find half the people that were fired or quit... PLEASE JUST DO YOUR RESEARCH! TRUST YOUR GUT! I should have known the moment I had an onsite at a low end apartment complex, where they were scrambling to find a room with a chair, and who I was supposed to be meeting with, that this place has no idea what they are doing. OH and the :WHO DEEP DIVE...INSANE lol they found that in a book as well...lmao

Confused most of the time

Pros

some really good people that work here. gaining solid experience on how to deal with ambiguity and wearing multiple hats.

Cons

Our management is confused. pretty blurry structuring. also confusing companies... resprop. atx acquisitions. getdone. rex. launches. investres....for being around for so long, i'd like to see things cleaned up a bit. Somedays I am reporting to one guy, others it's another guy. no real clarity or reasoning. Micromanaged more than I expected, and more than I have experienced in my 15 years working professionally. Looking over our shoulders daily, and update reports and meetings. a bit much for the stage we are in imho.

Thanks - appreciate your thoughts on pros/cons. Certainly understand your frustration with multiple reporting changes, and hope that has settled down for you. Good suggestion for us to clarify and better communicate what the different companies are - and how they work together.

Pros

If you're reading this, it means you're considering a position at Rex. There are a few pros: if you are good enough, Rex will hire you even if you don't have direct industry experience. They do spend the time to vet people: ability, fit, etc.

Cons

Please please please read the other less than positive reviews, I would say they paint a fairly accurate situation. Things I wish I asked during the interview process: - what are projected financials for next year, what assumptions? - what are key metrics? - what is the funding situation like? THEN go back and evaluate how the company has performed on a continual basis. Other considerations: - If you're in a good spot right now, push for more pay. Assume equity will be worth NOTHING (you get a dismal amount of equity given how early stage the companies are at, but the base could be sufficient, risk vs reward) - You might get more responsibilities, but it's far more bureaucracy than you'd expect from a 'startup'. - Be sure you have a contingency plan if things go south (and they will). Can you go back to your old company? Can you do something else? Do you have savings to dip into?
