Pros

-They will throw a lot of money at you. (bc they will fire you if you don't perform within a week or if you don't worship Peter). - Pretty sure this will end up as a Netflix Documentary at some point because of how INSANE it is.

Cons

- In office, but looked at funny if you leave before 6:30 pm m-f - Women are treated as nothing more than glorified assistants regardless of role - They fire people without a single warning. They also hire with the idea of, "we can pay them a lot bc if they suck we will just fire them after a few weeks" - They don't give bonuses. Took away promised bonuses in exchange for equity which means nothing because they don't even have legit companies - more of a cult than a tech company - Who ever is the biggest sheep and worships Peter Rex the most gets benefits and are the only people who stay past 6 months. - Priests at every social event, not a con per se, just weird

Things have a way of working out for the best

Pros

You'll get to learn how to not do things. You will learn to appreciate the stuff that matters in life and be happier after you quit, maybe.

Cons

If you think your big company is a politics infested leech hive, you are mistaken. This is the king dung of behind kissing, where it matters not what you build, but only who you flatter. Do you want to get away from the rat race, join an exciting startup and see your equity grow among some of the smartest and ingenious risk takers in the world? Well, get ready to find the biggest bureaucracy masquerading as a tech startup, be treated like a commodity, asked to move across country just to be discarded after a month. Enjoy being constantly micromanaged by people who have no idea about anything and are CYA experts. Your opinion is worthless and none of your skills matter, if you don't have the right friends. Be ready to discard your equity and everything you are working on because we are "pivoting". You listen to "this is startup culture" being thrown away only to mask gross incompetence, lies, panic, random layoffs and a general sense that nothing works. Startups are not really startups, but product teams managed from above. Each employee has to listen to not just one but a few chiefs as to how to do their job. Nobody wants to help, but gives constantly changing tasks without any understanding of the context of what is being built and how things work, while pointing fingers if something does not work or criticize if you show any initiative. There is no career or skills to improve, nobody gives any real guidance that could help you in any way, you have to figure it all out while constantly walking on thin ice, because upsetting the wrong people is fatal. Your actual manager may also change every week, along with goals, teams, technology or office and you wont have a say in anything. If you are in, have a backup ready, if you are out, there's better. Welcome to Rex, a great place if you are not looking for a startup, tech or integrity.

Pros

We’ll pay you... eventually! No but seriously we own property across the country and have large bank accounts. We promise!

Cons

Do you enjoy huge egos, exploitative leadership, and social Darwinism?? Rex might be the perfect fit for you! Let’s walk through your future career at Rex! Onboarding: while sending hundreds of canned LinkedIn messages is a top priority having an actual interview process is NOT. We expect you to “demonstrate initiative” by coordinating all your own interviewers! Part of the challenge is figuring out who wont ghost you for more “important meetings,” respect prevents us from achieving our highest value of “speed at any cost.” pro tip: We “refresh” our recruiting team weekly so be sure you keep your eyes on the LinkedIn page to know who’s made the cut this week! Your first day: remember the olden days where companies provided equipment to their employees, not us! We let you spend your own money on those! Laptops, chairs, functional internet, and access credentials are our first test of your true grit. We believe the strongest players can overcome all obstacles! Be prepared to beg, borrow, and steal your way to success!! Your first week: Collaboration is dead, long live survival of the fittest! We believe in everyone for themselves! We’ll have you onboard the manager who’ll eventually undermine your accomplishments, sabotage your achievements, and inevitably replace you with someone more exploitable! Weekly check-ins: Remember those pesky performance reviews! We do things differently! We lie to your face at weekly check-in’s. We want only the best and know that the highest performers will succeed under any adverse condition. Your last day: after having worked 3 weeks straight of 14 hour day’s with little sleep. You’ll receive “the call,” this is our final opportunity to demonstrate our true values. We’ll inform you of your graduation into the ranks of our numerous accomplished alumni, which we affectionately to refer to as “Rex-exers” Rex wants you! So if your lack of any integrity resonates with these values we can’t wait for you to “invent the future” with us by elevating your humanity! You may be the final straw we’ve been needing to finally collapse our entire house of cards! Talk soon!
