Pros

-Some good mid-level management who cared about their team's success -Good pay and benefits -Break room with snacks/drinks, ping-pong, good office environment -At times there was good lead gen which made building pipeline possible

Cons

-After the overhaul of the C-suite things went downhill -Lead gen/branding was non-existent. No one knew who we were. Leads we did get were often bad data. Marketing believed someone who had never heard of the company could be a middle or bottom of funnel lead -New CEO has a track record of poor leadership at previous roles -Most productive office was closed down because it was not where the CEO lived in an attempt to get cash flow positive -Management invested in hiring too many sales people instead of product innovation which led to stagnation in the market

Pros

When I started working at Act-On, I felt empowered to make a difference and was provided ample resources and opportunities to advance my career. I worked with an incredible team of smart, talented, and hardworking people.

Cons

Of course, all good things must come to an end. The new leadership team didn’t trust the knowledge and expertise of their people. They were slow to move when critical issues were pointed out to them. They stopped investing in the team and as they lost headcount (and revenue) piled unrealistic amounts of work on those who remained. In addition to this, there lies an insidious undercurrent of misogyny and sexism that is constantly dismissed by HR. I had mentioned specific accounts of harassment by several men in the office during my exit interview but was told there was nothing they could do because I had not “reported it in a timely manner.” If progressivism is what you seek, you will not find it here.

I'm very sorry to hear about your experience. It's especially concerning to hear your perception of HR not taking concerns seriously. I want to ensure you and everyone that we do take all concerns raised very seriously. We have worked hard this year to open up safe, confidential, internal channels which had not existed in the past and have addressed each issue that has come forward. This is a journey we are still on. Our goal is to ensure all concerns are brought forward so we can work through them and I wish we could have had more time to resolve before you departed. Following the exit interview feedback, I was made aware of these concerns and we addressed them with management. In addition, we implemented harassment awareness training for all employees and management this Fall to ensure expectations are clear about behaviors that are not tolerated. While it may not be transparent to everyone, when unacceptable behaviors have been raised to HR, we have addressed the concerns in the appropriate way based upon the situation; and that has ranged from immediate coaching or performance management up to termination. If you continue to have concerns I hope you will reach out to either me or any member of the HR team so we can discuss them. - Susy

Pros

Great views from the office. Decent medical insurance.

Cons

The current exec team is highly inexperienced and has destroyed this company. They have failed miserably at all levels: product, sales & support - while raking in big $ in salaries (especially the newbies). Ever since the new CEO came along, the company's performance has tanked. Lots of talk and no results. The numbers do not lie. I'm headed out the door soon. Run before its too late. The market is red hot with opportunities.

I am on our Product Marketing Team in Portland and can confirm that neither of the Product Marketers in Portland published this post. These views do not represent our experience at Act-On and we are both very concerned that someone would be falsely representing our team. If this is a valid post from a current employee, we encourage you to share your perspectives with our HR team at teampeople@act-on.net. Thanks, Adam
