Not what it seems

Pros

Competitive pay, employees at the bottom must stick together.

Cons

There are signs that the company is not doing well. Aimbridge cares about the # of hotels they acquire, not their employees. There are too many 'cooks in the kitchen' - too many in manager roles, and not enough associates to do that work. There are very bad managers and leaders at Aimbridge and none of them seem to want to learn how to improve. Each manager has a different philosophy on how to do things and HR does not have a consistent policy to follow. If you go to HR about a manager, they will retaliate. HR will not investigate the issue and will allow a manager to turn it back on you, even if the manager misleads and lies. Benefits are the worst I have ever seen in all my career. Ask for higher pay to cover the gap. They expect employees to not have a good work life balance.

Pros

Fast track to management That’s honestly it.

Cons

I easily worked 90 hours a week (I was an AGM) and was treated like they would replace me the next day. Prior to opening a new property my General Manager left the property. I was a 2 month tenured AGM running a property by myself for 3 months. They offered little things no assistance providing me with almost no support for the first month. As a result of me putting in this additional effort I was rewarded with a quarterly bonus of 235 dollars. As I stated this was a new build with several large construction issues and still managed to finish 7 points above the branded benchmark. I was worked to the point I injured myself and was not even give a paid leave. My directors response to the news of my injury was to quote “ Does this mean you’re resigning”. Yeah my back feels great thanks for asking? This company has 0 appreciation for young talent and will work you until you’re no longer valuable to them.
