Pros

Good location and lunch perks

Cons

CEO is very inexperienced and only cares about himself and his image Employee and customer turnover is out of control Management writes fake (positive) reviews on Glassdoor to disguise the truth Employment recruiters don't want to work with them due to their poor reputation in the valley Company has burned thru $53.5M in VC dough and only produced $9.7M in revenue for 2012 (founded in 2006). My guess is they'll have to get more money soon to continue. My opinion is that this could be a down round. Customer dissatisfaction and churn is a major problem and will eventually impede any future growth.

Revolving door is a perfect analogy

Pros

Location is quite good, right on a 101 exit and next to Shoreline park. Being in Mountain View have some advantages, whether someone commutes from upper peninsula or east bay or lower south bay. It is also located next to Google buildings, so you can grab a Google bike and go for biking in Shoreline park. Two free lunches every week with variety of choices. In general people show up here as employees are very good people with very honest intention to make a difference in a startup company. Hence most of them are very helpful at the beginning, before things start getting sour over time due to chaotic environment. Attractive looking people in some of departments are added bonus.

Cons

Normally I don't write review of my ex-employers and it is against my norm. But looking at number of fake five-star reviews on Axcient, I thought I should try to balance it with some factual information. What is the statistical probability of three former employees of a small startup company writing five-star reviews on very same day? That is also all three with exactly same grammatical mistakes! These fake reviews underscore the pathetic and sorry state of Axcient, where the only way they can restore the reputation of company is by writing fake reviews on Glassdoor or Yelp. That does not sound like a “Great” company as many of the five-star reviews are trying to portray. Revolving door is a perfect analogy of this company, where people just come and go. Average longevity of employees in this company is less than one year. If one employee stays in Axcient for more than one year, he or she can easily grab the “one of the oldest employees” title. Cubicles and offices, be it in Marketing or Engineering or Sales area, get vacant quite often and the whole office building looks like a deserted place. Then slowly they get filled up with new employees in next fews months. Then they start becoming vacant again. Prejudice runs quite high here in Axcient. No objective analysis of performance and achievements of the employees. Favorite people always get the clapping no matter how trivial and useless things they do. Non-favorite people always collect insulting and demeaning words no matter how hard they work. Some of the powerful personnels, not necessarily with VP/Director/Manager titles, don’t even have proper training in American corporate cultural. The words they use against fellow employees and the body language they show is quite appalling and disrespectful in American standard. One fellow employee can easily figure out whether he or she in the favorite side or wrong side from the words and body language from these powerful personnels. Interestingly, to defend their body language, these powerful personnels never forget to mention about their ex-employments at some well-known 'R' company.

Management doesn't care!

Pros

PTO and Free Lunch were the only pros now

Cons

Management doesn't care about employees. If you work in Sales and don't make your quota you will not get trained on how to be more productive, you will get fired. Management has favorites and if your not on their list they won't care about you. CEO is young and very inexperienced.
